The Foo Fighters – Wasting Light (Album Review)

Posted in Album Review, Music with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on April 2, 2011 by Tickets There

It’s hardly surprising that the Foo Fighters have become a band beloved by all. They’ve managed that always difficult task of appealing to fans from every cross section of music and country in the world. They’re so bloody savage that when ever you meet someone who doesn’t like them you’re left with a pity, shame and very obvious feeling of distrust towards the offending comments creator – the non-Foo Fighters fan. Tickets There has never been able to understand this rare breed of human but then again with all the Hitler’s, Gaddafi’s and Pol Pot’s we’ve produced it’s hardly surprising that evil does exist in the world. Fortunately they aren’t numerous enough to matter so the Foo’s love bludgeons on.

First and foremost, the band have produced some of the finest rock songs of the last two decades. How anyone could ever slate anything from The Colour and the Shape, their self-title début, There Is Nothing Left to Lose and One By One is a riddle that will plague philosophers for all the ages to come. Then there’s the videos! How can one band make so many savagely brilliant videos in such a short space of time? When Beavis and Butt-Head return we’re sure the Foo’s will be on regular rotation with respect showed by the little twits. Without going down the Nirvava connection, you have Dave Grohl – easily the most likeable man in the music industry. A man respected and admired by all; peers and fans alike. Not only does the man rule the roost when it comes to drumming but he’s proven himself one hell of an amazing song writer, singer and guitarist spanning everything from grunge to metal to rock to acoustic. He’s done it all and at the end of the day he’s still bowing to the likes of KISS, Motörhead and Kind Diamond. With all this together you can only imagine the excitement when they release a new album and Tickets There has returned just to tell you that they have delivered. Oh and of course let’s not forget to mention that Nirvana producer Butch Vig and former ‘Golden Age’ Foo Fighters guitarist Pat Smear have returned to the fold to help make this a pretty sweet record.

Bridge Burning kicks things off with plenty of riffage, a very restrained chorus but plenty of kick ass catchiness to slap a silly grin all over the puss. Rope, the albums first single falls back to an older Foo’s style that’s been slightly mixed with the In Your Honor grandiose vibe. Excellent song and proof that the Foo’s can pretty much try and accomplish anything they want in life! Dear Rosemary is a decent wee number but White Limo’s follow up has much more to offer. Oozing in screaming vocals, intimidating guitars and snake bite drums, the track is one of the heaviest the Foo Fighters have ever done and could be mistaken from a cut from their first record due to it’s raw, blistering energy. Also Lemmy Kilmister is in the video, can you get any more rock n’ roll than that?

Arlandria is more generic and bloated. There are very rare occasions when Foo Fighter’s choruses edge too close to the world of Nickelback and this is possibly one of them. Nice song that on repeat listens will probably see Tickets There becoming fonder and fonder of it. These Days is similar in structure and not one we’re currently going mad about but nothing offending here. Back & Forth is another momentarily impressive number with moments of excellence but an overall lack of amazo-balls. I’m not 100% sure but I think I hear some Bryan Adams influence in the chorus. C’est la vie. White Limo still rings string in the head so let’s move on.

A Matter of Time again has it’s moments but we’re feeling an overall lag at this point of the album. It’s all too close to what the lads have done before but offering the same quality in song writing and their promise that this is the heaviest album they’ve ever made are looking less and less creditable. Still not awful, still some Foo Fighter gems to make it more than worth your while but not looking like it’ll be remembered with the same esteem as their previous attempts.

Miss The Misery could be the changer though. Bellowing hard rock riffs, their classic dark overtones and a nice feeling to the song. Things are on the up as we reach the second last track, I Should Have Known which features a guest appearance by Dave’s former Nirvana band mate Krist Novoselic on accordion and bass which really kicks through towards the end of the song. Great number mixing different styles of rock and to some extent soul (we’ll explain when we’re sure). Final track Walk is an excellent number. More screaming vocals, belting drums and 100% Foo Fighter heaviness with better hooks than the New York Yankees golden pitchers could amass (saw this documentary about the Yankee’s a while ago…been trying to find out how to use it. Waste not want not).

Well the wait is over, we like it. There’s moment we’ll need to warm up but not too many to ignore completely. The albums strongest moments mostly happen within the first few songs but there are surprises at the end that’ll ensure full plays for a long time. It may not be remembered as their strongest but we’re sure some of these songs will live on happily within the Foo’s live set for a long time to come. If you want to hear for yourself, pop over and listen at the band’s Soundcloud page.

Review: Fox E. and the Good Hands – Live ‘Saucy Sunday’s’ @ The Grand Social, (Feb 20th, 2011)

Posted in Gig Review, IRISH NOISE!, Music with tags , , , , , , , on March 1, 2011 by Tickets There

Recessions have their purpose, for those of us who like to see the good side at least (*on hands and knees – Please lord, don’t make Tickets There eat those words with your wrath). Aside from tax increases, less benefits, no jobs and, oddly enough, rising prices; there are some perks like Saucy Sundays at the Grand Social. A whole day of free music with food and booze deals to boot. Having never been, Tickets There jumped at the chance for a new experience accompanied by music from Kildare’s excellent Fox E. and The Good Hands. There were others…..but let’s not go there.

With recent line up changes now finished and a whole batch of new material rarin’ to go, The Good Hands are looking and sounding better than ever and they’re finally ready to seek out some real success. Their blues / soul / rock sound mixed with lead singer, Fox E’s sexy, seductive voice are enough to make any music fan drop to the floor in respect for some of the finest talent you are going to hear this year.

Coming on to an almost packed house, the bands reputation has obviously preceded them with most in attendance rapturously greeting them. Kicking things off with the Forbidden Fruit, the band waste little time living up to the audience’s expectations and winning over the bystanders. A cover of Blackstreet’s No Diggity helps the band find their feet on stage which become firmly cemented after a performance of the wonderful For Elise. The sexy, energetic soul feel returns with excellent performances of Ain’t Got No Cigarettes, Please Me and the wonderful I Like It Cury. The bands on stage and audience interaction only heightens your love for them but with tracks like Sunday’s Whore and the others played tonight, they could say SFA and you’d still be back begging for more. If not for Fox E.’s charms and amazing voice then definitely for David’s soaring guitar solo’s or Barry’s tendency to belt out some pretty decent rap solo’s.

Going against the grain tonight, the band are hastily brought back after finishing their set to feed the hungry audience with one final helping of music gold (in other words, a cover of Stevie Wonders Superstition) which brings the house down. An incredible gig from a band that have success stamped firmly across their respective line-up. Watch this space!

Fot those that just can’t wait for Tickets There to get off our bottoms, follow the band on their Official Facebook.

The Riptide Movement – Keep On, Keepin’ On (Single Review)

Posted in Gig Listing, Music, News, Single Review with tags , , , on March 1, 2011 by Tickets There

The Riptide Movement are back with a new single from their forthcoming debut album….(no title yet, excuse the lack of press J). Keep On, Keepin’ On follows their highly successful debut single, Hot Tramp that stormed the airwaves late last year.

Keeping their standard blue grass feel, the band has produced another tobacco chewing, spittoon of Cajun rock. This time the cut throat rock feel has been toned down but the feeling of Americana is still there and the band’s sound can be heard expanding with each note.

An excellent number that deserves as much attention as you can give it. The album is finished and coming out this year so keep an eye on Tickets There for updates because this is one you don’t want to miss.

If you want to get a taste of the new record, make sure you head down to see the lads live in The Academy 2 this weekend.

There’s two shows so whether you’re a young folks who can’t shave yet @ 14:00 (under 14’s) with special guests The Boxing Plot & The Competition followed by a late show (with drinkies for all you over the hill, drunken silly folk….myself included) @ 20:00 with special guests Leaving Las Vegas & Powderhorse

Tickets are priced E10 for both shows and there’ll be free CD’s on the day!

***UPDATE – 16th Nov. *** LAS VEGAS & L.A. Tour Dates Added***

Sorry for the recent silence folks – will do a proper update this evening, For now it’s time for Los Angeles and Las Vegas to get excited cause Guns N’ Roses are coming to town. The band have announced shows for December 21st (@ The Forum, LA) and 31st (The Joint, Las Vegas) so get your Christmas and New Year’s all within a few hours’ drive of each other….and several days apart. What am I talking about? Who knows!

Oh, and Axl hasn’t ruled out the option of re-uniting with the old line-up if Guns get inducted to the Rock ‘n’ Roll hall of fame. He knows some fans want to see it and isn’t against the suggestion.

***UPDATE – 1st Nov. *** Axl Rose Battling Bronchitis – But The Show Must Go On ***

According to blabbermouth (who in turn credit it to an insider from Guns N’ Roses management) has leaked that Axl Rose has been battling bronchitis and ‘Montezuma’s Revenge’ for the past few weeks. For those of you who don’t know, Montezuma’s Revenge is a nice way of saying ‘travellers diarrhea’ which Axl himself confirmed he had in a recent posting on his twitter account.

Despite this, Axl and the Guns have been kicking ass and taking names in Orlando, Miami and they’re set to do the same again tonight in Greenville, South Carolina at a special Halloween show at the Bi-Lo Centre. The last two shows have toppled the three hour mark with Axl and DJ Ashba even stopping by a sleepy VH1 crew from ‘That Metal Show’ to give an hour long interview.

America, if you haven’t bought tickets for this tour yet then you deserve a slap!

***UPDATE – 31st Oct. *** Happy Halloween Guns N’ Roses fans ***

Wishing all you fans and the band a very Happy Halloween.Hope you like this very special Axl Rose / GN’R Logo pumpkin that cause my hand much throbbing 🙂

***UPDATE – 30th Oct. *** US Tour: 2 Dates in! ***

Well folks, they’re home! Guns N’ Roses kicked off their first US tour in five years on Friday night with a stunning 2.5 hour show at Orlando, Florida. The set included 23 songs, 5 solos and 2 jams. According to reports from fans Guns sounded amazing, blowing the crowd away. Just read the comments on the Orlando Sentinel for poof. Included in the set were Chinese Democracy classic including Better, There Was A Time, Sorry, Madagascar and Chinese Democracy as well as fan favourites Don’t Cry, Estranged, Rocket Queen, You Could Be Mine and of course ..the usual :). Excellent set and an excellent comeback from the band.

But they didn’t stop there, last night the band headlined Miami American Airline’s Arena and played an equally stunning show again with no muss, no fuss; just good old fashioned Guns N’ Roses rock ‘n’ roll. Long may it continue! The official GN’R facebook has lots of tasty snaps for ya’ll to check out. Also, several new Canadian dates and a handful of additional American ones have been announced over the past coule of weeks. Tickets There apologizes for the delay getting these up – work I’m afraid and lots of it has stopped us doing anything else. Never fear, we’ll get there.

***UPDATE – 12thOct. *** FAT / OBESE / VOICE LOST / UNRECOGNIZABLE / LOOKS AND SOUNDS HORRIBLE / FAT AXL ***

I think it’s time to get something straight that’s annoying Tickets There and probably a lot of other Guns N’ Roses fans. Axl Rose is not fat, obese, unrecognizable. He doesn’t look horrible, his voice isn’t gone…etc, etc. The people writing this shite are called the media (and dick heads). The media make money of Axl Rose by focusing only on the negative and tearing them to shreds. Nobody ever hears about all of the fantastic shows Guns N’ Roses play because the media couldn’t be arsed talking about them. They like the controversy, the juice and they’ll suck the blood of the this band as long as they can because, well; Guns N’ Roses are the band people love to hate.

For instance, now the tabloids and online blogs are claiming Axl is fat and unrecognizable on the current tour. He looked exactly the same last year when they played Europe – not sure what the story is but if they’re expecting to see a 49 year old man looking the same as he did in 1987 (when he was 24) then that’s really their problem isn’t it?

As for losing his voice, Guns have played four shows on their current South American tour (Rio, Santiago, La Plata and Rosario). The last three have gone extremely well and you need only listen to the videos to see for yourself. Rio was first and Axl didn’t have his best night. I believe you’ll find that most musicians will say the first night of a tour is never the best (never-f**king-ever actually). Maybe it should be taken for granted that Axl, like all humans may get nerves and needs time to warm up and get comfortable. it can’t be easy; jumping on stage, day 01 of tour and play to 300,000 people for two hours in the pissing rain. Get off his back or have the deceny to trwat every band the same if you must bitch.

As for the bands tardiness, well what can I say? Oh, I could say that after two decades of late shows you are a f**king retard of the highest proportions to expect anything else. If you seriously (and I mean seriously) expect GN’R to be punctual after two decades of controversy and late gigs then you really are a total loss and a dreg of mankind. I cannot get over the sher rampant stupidity of anyone that would expect this band to be on time after everything they’ve done to convince the whole world that they’ll never change. You are a total moron and you possibly need to be sterilized or shot to stop you from infecting the rest of the race with … well, whatever the hell is making you that thick. My god, sea lions learn faster than you, monkeys, snails, brick walls, dirt – everything in the world has more intelligence than you and your kind.

Now for Obese comments (you f**king pricks! Wonder how the public would react if you just started snapping regular punters in the streets a couple of pounds overweight and called them obese in the press? There’d be outrage! Axl doesn’t look for media attention and avoids it like the plague so why focus on him?). Below is a picture of an obese man(left) and Axl Rose from the Chile gig on October 5th 2011 (right). Does he look obese? Does he look terrible? No, he looks a lot younger than 49 and he’s rocking the place. Did you hear about that? No – why? Because of everything in the opening paragraph.

The haters have nothing better to do with their lives than stir shit. Axl doesn’t let it get to him and that’s an example for us all. Fuck the haters, do your own thing. Heeding that advise, this is my last word on it.

***UPDATE – 10thOct. *** Facebook Fun & More U.S. Tour Dates Confirmed

‘Love them / hate them – they ain’t changing no matter what’ seems to be the message coming from the Guns camp in their latest FaceBook update. In a posting on Saturday (Oct. 8th) the band reaffirmed that anyone who has trouble staying up late for a hard rock concert has no business being there (agreed). Here it is in full,

Love it Hate it Accept it Debate it – You want 8 o’clock shows go find F-R-I-E-N-D-S or hit a cinema somewhere.. or you wanna be informed go catch the 10 o’clock news.. this is Rock N’ Roll! Treat yourself don’t cheat yourself thinking you’re gonna go to school or work or whatever you “normally” do the next day. Oh and remember before you get high and never want to come down. “you can have anything you want but you better not take it from me!” This is Guns N’Roses and when the time is right the stage will ignite. Looking forward to sharing that with rockers soon

What do you say to that? Well Tickets There has to agree. We’ve been through it and you know what – Guns comes on and kick ass. if you need an early sleep or have somewhere to be – then don’t go and see Guns N’ Roses. No-one’s making you so deal with it.

Well folks, they’re back! Guns N’ Roses are not long off the stage from their Rick In Rio IV headlining slot. One of the pics included above (which have all been robbed from Chinese Democracy.com Click for lots n lots more) is tonight’s sound desk set-list which includes two new totals ‘Going Down’ and ‘Riff Raff’. Whether these were played or not is still a mystery, but Tickets There doubts it as the boards and twitter would have lit up….not that they didn’t. *** UPDATE – 12th June *** – Guns N’ Roses Announce Chile and Argentina Tour Dates
Would love to announce that you heard it here first, but Tickets There’s been busy this week enjoying the greatest few days of 2011 (so far). While we were off our old pals, GN’R announced a couple of South American shows in October that will coincide with their already announced headlining slot at Rock In Rio IV.

That’s right, they’ll be hitting the Movistar Arena in Santiago on October 5 (Chile) and the Estadio Único de La Plata (just outside Buenos Aires) on October 8th (Argentina). Tickets are on sale for both shows later this month.

Tickets There is delighted to see the band hitting the road again so soon and hopefully we’ll have more announcements in the coming weeks.

*** UPDATE – 11th May *** – DJ Ashba Hopes Guns N’ Roses Will Play US This Year
I Read the news today Oh Boy – Mr. DJ Ashba, a man we can all agree is a legend, has spoken (a few times recently – but we’ve been lazy) about the chances of Guns N’ Roses playing the US this year. As you may have noticed, the April – May dates we posted below aren’t going ahead (unless they’re very good at keeping secrets. Who knows, maybe they’ve played a million shows but forgot to let people in or tell anyone about them).

In a comment to Metal Injection at the recent Revolver Golden Gods Awards, Ashba made the following remark about the chances of Guns N’ Roses playing more dates this year.

“Absolutely,” he replied. “We just booked [Brazil’s] Rock in Rio [festival] for October 2, but there’s talk we’re gonna be going out way sooner. And hopefully we’re gonna be [playing dates] here in the States this year. I’m hoping. That’s the plan.”

I suppose the folks in the US must be getting pretty tired of these reports but as we’ve said before, be patient. They will play eventually and it’ll be one hell of a tour when they do. Maybe everyone go out, buy a copy of Chinese Democracy, forget the old guns and embrace the new sound (or stop listening to GN’R is you can’t dig it) and the band will be there in no time.

Thanks to GNRDaily.com(the greatest GN’R site on the net) for the story.

*** UPDATE – 29th March *** – Guns N’ Roses to Headline ROCK IN RIO 4

Oh yeah, the boys (Guns N’ Roses – Duh) are going for Brazil this year to headline the Rock In Rio festival on October 2nd. They’ll be playing the festival with old pals Metallica, The Red Hot Chilli Peppers and lots more. Tickets on sale now.

This is the first confirmed show by the band for 2011 with the US tour that was suggested below looking less and less likely to kick off next week (Sarcasm). Don’t worry US, they’ll play there at some point – just don’t act like a pack of assholes when they do and Uncle Axl will reward you with more frequent tours.

Don’t go getting too excited yet folks but the good lads at GNRDaily.com have posted an extensive list of rumoured US / Canadian tour dates that the legendary Guns N’ Roses just might be embarking on in 2011.

Kicking off in Atlanta on April 7th, the tour is currently scheduled to last until June with a total of 29 dates including stops in New York’s Madison Square Garden and Los Angeles Nokia Theatre.

No official word on these dates yet but Tickets There, like all Guns N’ Roses fans are hoping these are true and the US will finally get to see exactly how good the band are these days. We’ll update ye with more news as soon as we hear it.

MySpace Review – Land Lovers

Posted in IRISH NOISE!, Music, MySpace Review with tags , , , , , , on January 31, 2011 by Tickets There

Ye can all thank / blame Land Lovers for our 400th sudden stop in updates last week. We found the Dublin band while we were pile driving through some home-grown talent MySpace’s and were brought to a grinding halt after one go of their player. At first ‘Children / Pop / Showtunes’ seemed like something we were going to really regret giving the time to but after several million spins over the last week, we’re ready to share them with ye all.

We’ve never seen them or heard their album…yet!

The Cinema Bell sounds exactly like we were expecting. Clappy, silly keyboards and poppy noises but we stayed and ‘struggled on’ because the vocals are strong and the song is nice and catchy. Multiple spins has brought it closer to us but we’re still standing there with a wee stick between us so that style never becomes too comfortable. Immovable Feast is the one that really threw is. Total change in styles and a feeling of instant maturity to the writing, very strong with an excellent flow.

Paddy Works The Maglev follows the same style Immovable Feet but includes a more Irish traditional style of structure meaning any of ye out there that enjoy the start / stop style of the verse may like trad one day. A nice song that discusses present day Ireland but manages to avoid the clichés and awful comedy pitfalls that many others are throwing out at the moment. Possibly our favourite of the bunch.

No. 1 Communiqué changes the style again and gives the band a much darker tone. Not a whole pile to writer here. Lyrics are darker, music is darker and there’s a great mix of styles but the overall delivery is pretty unique to Land Lovers. Is that amateur-music speech jargon? We think so. Don’t really want to write this review while listening so just go and visit their MySpace and enjoy. You won’t regret it, honest!

KISS Confirm New 2011 Album

Posted in Music, News with tags , , , , , , on January 28, 2011 by Tickets There

The doom and gloom of our rancid recession ridden lives aside, the mighty KISS have cheered up the millennium with the confirmed announcement that they’ll be hitting the studio in March to record a brand spanking new record for release later this year. Mr. Paul ‘Starchild’ Stanley, the nicest man in rock music and the filthiest legend going with the ladies is once again set to spear head production duties for the record after the massive success from his last baby, Sonic Boom.

KISS + New Album = New Tour!!! Fortunately, the tour isn’t all these is these days as Sonic Boom proved The lads can whip out classic rock giants like ever before and a new album means at least 10 new songs to add to your favourite KISS tracks of all time. Tickets There’s list currently includes around 18,000 songs. Not all were written or recorded by KISS but deep down we know and you know that it was KISS in another form.

Anyways, the news was confirmed by Tommy ‘the main man’ (not his actual nickname folks, just the lads being unoriginal as always – Ed) Thayer when he gave an interview to BackstageAxxess recently. Read his bible like comments below!

“The great news is that we are going in the studio again in the next month or two. We are starting to work on writing some songs, approach it just like we did with Sonic Boom and keep it all in the band in terms of the writing, with no agenda besides writing great rock n’ roll songs that we love, then rehearsing them before then recording them. It really felt good to us so we’ll go the same way this time.”

“Paul knows more what a KISS record should sound like than anybody, to be honest with you, so he is going to lead the charge and produce it again and we are all really excited about it.

“I know we are going to start working on it really soon in terms of the writing and rehearsing and we’ll probably be in the studio by March, so sometime this year I’m sure you’ll see a spanking new KISS album that’s gonna kick some butt!”

Here at Tickets There, the world’s greatest music blog of all time, we believe in credit where credit’s due and Liam Gallagher so far deserves all the credit you can give him. Today, Beady Eye has announced their very first shows on Irish soil with two dates in Dublin’s Olympia on April 14th and 15th with a Northern gig in Belfast’s Ulster Hall on April 17th.

MySpace (Sample) Review – Two Door Cinema Club

Posted in IRISH NOISE!, Music, MySpace Review with tags , , , , on January 24, 2011 by Tickets There

We’re scouring the internet, listening to as many major underground bands from 2010 as possible (yes, yes we are aware we’d be better off looking for the next thing rather than the stuff everyone’s already heard – thanks!) and Two Door Cinema Club’s name kept popping up last year. Yesterday, we finally decided to see why exactly they were one of the most searched bands of last year. Unfortunately, we never did get it and any hope of understanding was dashed by the fact that their MySpace player is full of samples. Defiant as we are, we refused to search for another streaming service and have now decided to do a review of the MySpace samples. Why bother? Cause we’re not listening to the other name on our list.

We’ve never seen them live or heard their album. Let the Review Sample begin!

Sample 1Cigarettes In The Theatre: Chongo pop, Silly. Guitars sound good for a moment at the start, lyrics are not our cup of tea.
Sample 2Come Back Home: Sounds better, improvement on the vocals. Generic though.
Sample 3Do You Want It All: Sounds like it would get very annoying, very quickly.
Sample 4 – This is the life: Hmmm…vocals are disappointing again in this snip
Sample 5 – Something Good Can Work: Vocals and lyrics this time. Don’t like the OhOh (we’ve actually heard this before, must have been a single)
Sample 6 –
I Can Talk: This one sounds quite good. Vocals are a better, not annoying and catchy!
FULL SONG –
Undercover Martyn: Eh, not our thing at all. Sounds like Snow Patrol except better (anything without Snow Patrol’s direct involvement is always better). Not too bad, nothing to hate but it’s just too plain.
Sample 7  – What You Know: Same again, but a little better thank Undercover Martyn.
Sample 8 – Eat That Up, It’s Good For You: Sounds avoidable.
Sample 9You Are Not Stubborn: Don’t think they’re for us folks. Lets call it a review.

Remember, to read more badly written yet highly tasteful reviews, just visit tt. This sample has been brought to you by Tickets There in conjunction with The Def Leppard For Jesus Campaign.

MySpace Review – O Emperor

Posted in IRISH NOISE!, Music, MySpace Review with tags , , , , , , , , , , , on January 24, 2011 by Tickets There

That’s right, another one of Ireland’s hotly tipped underground acts we’ve never seen or heard before. What do we actually do with our time you ask? Well, we drink a fair bit (although not that much, only 3 times this month including new years eve), watch a lot of TV, work on our paint city and listen to a lot of Megadeth, Def Leppard, Guns N’ Roses and read. Not much time left in that hectic, crazy schedule to be going out and just, *tusks / grunt-laugh/shakes head and frowns* listen to music for the hell of it! Anyways, we’re here now and that’s the important thing and we have some good news! We’re liking O Emperor a lot more than we thought we would. Now for ya!

Never seen them, haven’t heard their album.

Don’t Mind Me reminds us of a song you’d hear in one of those eighties New York films with driving or a small bar. Starts nicely and improves with age. For a gentle, serene mood this is your baby. Po is a liverier wee number. Faster, louder but still nice and relaxed (a word that will be repeated in this review). Sedalia is again ‘relaxed’ (real journalists / bloggers manage to use a little thing called vocabulary guys. Just a hint – Ed), nice on the ears and a very pleasant experience. Recommended so far.

The Fat Lady starts the second half of tunes in an even more sombre, quiet and uneventful (not necessarily a negative use of the word uneventful, just not a whole pile of complexity or action in this case) than the previous three. Very deep reaching piece of music that some have no doubt been captivated and transformed by. Tickets There is in quite a chirpy mood today so no depression here. Still quite enjoyable though and it’ll definitely be on our ‘depressed as hell – need reconciliation and / or companionship from non-in the room human’ list. Heisenberg follows much the same suit except it’s a little too over the top on the dull factor. Quite short which we always see a bonus point to songs we don’t like but just too sad. We need a little piece along the lines of Po now.

To The Sea is last and it’s got life! It’s no Springsteen now, leppin’ about the place or anything but it’s got blood in it’s veins and delivered enough of what we were looking for to finish things on a good note. O Emperor, recommended. If you’re having a nice relaxing Monday, then give them a go,. If you’re stressed out, give them a go. If you’re massively under the weather and ‘bad thoughts’ are spiralling out of control in your warped head, then have a listen to Whitesnake. When you’re all happy and better, then give O Emperor a go. O Emperor MySpace
