Sirocco Announce 2011 European Tour

Posted in Gig Listing, IRISH NOISE!, Music, News with tags , , , , , on May 31, 2011 by Tickets There

Cork / Watherford Celtic metallers Sirocco have announced a string of Irish / U.K. and European dates which kick off in September and last until late October.

After first coming to prominence through Tickets There’s mighty ‘MySpace Review’ series (ahem), the band have been gigging’, recording and …doing band-ly things in the build up to the revolution when they, along with a handful of others, will restore Ireland’s faith in heavy metal music. We loved them on record and after seeing them hold their own supporting Megadeth in Cork last year, we can vouch a hundred times over for their live performance.

They’ll be bringing some of the finest Irish born heavy rock / metal tunes you’ll hear so make sure you check out one of the following dates. Tickets There will be the ones holding the Jag and Buck in Fibbers… with no friends.

Here at Tickets There, the world’s greatest music blog of all time, we believe in credit where credit’s due and Liam Gallagher so far deserves all the credit you can give him. He broke up Oasis (basically) and set out on a path to form an ever better band. Whether or not you believe he’s accomplished this (and we’ll know more next month when the album comes out), you have to give it to the man that so far he’s been doing  bang up job with Beady Eye.

Today, Beady Eye has announced their very first shows on Irish soil with two dates in Dublin’s Olympia on April 14th and 15th with a Northern gig in Belfast’s Ulster Hall on April 17th.

The buzz around the lads grows every day and things are looking good for next months debut release, Different Gear, Still Speeding.

Tickets go on sale this Friday, January 28th priced at €36.60 for Dublin and £30 in Belfast (plus booking fee. MCD Promotions running the gig / Ticketmaster.ie for tickets).

Foo Fighters To Play Oxegen 2011?

Posted in Music, News with tags , , , , on December 2, 2010 by Tickets There

With the announcement that The Foo Fighters are headlining Scotland’s T In The Park festival, things seem pretty likely that Oxegen will soon announce the same.

The two festivals have always shared their acts so expect official word soon that the mighty Grohl driven machine will be returning to Irish sores in 2011. Pity it has to be Oxegen but you never known they might decide to play an ‘Intimate show for fans‘ in the O2 as well.

***UPDATED – 13th Dec 2010 – Foo Fighters Confirmed for Oxegen 2011***

Well, Tickets There was right (not that a whole pile of logic was needed, eh TT? – Ed). Foo Fighters have been confirmed for Oxegen 2011. The Commitments To Tour Ireland in 2011

Posted in IRISH NOISE!, Music, News with tags , , , , , , , , , on October 6, 2010 by Tickets There

***UPDATE – 15:26: Pictures taken this morning of the reunited Commitments Members***
Well, they came and played Liberty Hall this morning as promised, the original Commitments line-up with the exception of Maria Doyle Kennedy. For pictures, check out KDamo

***Original Post***

Well folks, the rumors are true. Legendary (yet semi-fictional) Irish band, The Commitments are set to reunite for four shows next year, marking the twentieth anniversary of the film’s release.

According to Independent.ie the original cast are set to return with the possible exception of Maria Doyle Kennedy (to be confirmed). The confirmed dates are

The Royal Theatre, Castlebar, Co. Mayo on March 14th,
The INEC in Killarney, Co. Kerry on March 15th,
The Odyssey, Belfast on March 17th
The O2, Dublin on March 19th.

Tickets are priced €55.80/€59.80 (£36/£40 in Belfast) and go on sale from Ticketmaster on Friday, October 15th.

The news is currently being launched at Liberty Hall with the cast set to play a small show for press. We’ll add an update as soon as all the facts are in.

We know reuions are a given these days but this is one no-body thought could ever happen but after 20 years of Irish people sitting around constantly calling for one, it appears prayers have been answered and we’ll all finally get to see the saviors’ of soul on a live stage.

Tickets There will be fighting with internet connections and probably a million Irish and international folks to grab tickets for The O2 so…back off, they’re ours 😀 Also, the band will be donating a percentage of each ticket sale to Irish Cancer Society (and no, they haven’t lost their concern for the growing heroine problem, they just want to spread the help around).

For more information about the tour, please check out The Dedicated FaceBook Page which has all the info.
