BLACK SABBATH, RAMMSTEIN & MANY MORE ANNOUNCED FOR HELLFEST 2016

It’s really, really true. Hellfest 2016 have just made their first official line-up announcement which has confirmed the rumours that Black Sabbath and Rammstein will be headlining the 3 day event. A third headliner and over 20 more bands will be announced at a later date with Metallica, Tool, System of a Down and AC/DC all getting nods from fans.

Along with the headliners, Hellfest have also announced Slayer, Megadeth and Anthrax – further adding fuel to the potential Big 4 rumors. And just in case that wasn’t enough for you, they’ve also thrown in KoRn, Volbeat, Gorjira, King Diamond, Twisted Sister, Testatment, Over Kill, Napalm Death, Decide, Dark Funeral, Vader, Voivod, Sick of it All, Down, The Melvins and many, many, many more. Slane 2015 officially announced

It’s official, MCD have announced The Foo Fighters will headline Slane castle on May 30th, 2015.

Joining the most loveable rock band in the world at one of Ireland’s most iconic festivals will be Kaiser Chiefs, Hozier and two other bands still TBC.

Tickets go on sale Dec 1st priced €79.50 including booking fees.

Graspop and Sweden Rock announce 2015 line-ups

Oh it’s getting serious now folks, First Download and Hellfest and now Graspop and Sweden Rock have unleashed the beasts for next year’s festivities. Both have fairly enticing attractions so the pressure is now on for decision making.

Graspop: 19,20,21 JUNE 15
Graspop is coming out mighty strong this year. As one of Europe’s most scared festivals, the chances of a good line-up are always pretty decent and 2015 will be no different. They’ve managed to capture most of the mouth watering touring line-up’s this year.

KISS, Slipknot and Scorpions will headline the event with serious support coming from Judas Priest, Motorhead, Alice Cooper, Exodus, KoRn, Body Count, In Flames, Lamb of God, Cradle of Filth, Arch Enemy, Cannibal Corpse, PRIMORDIAL and many, many more. Sweden Rock Festival: 3,4,5,6 JUNE 15
One thing – Headliners are the best I’ve seen yet. Def Leppard, Motley Crue, Judas Priest and …ahem, ToTo will headline this four day extravaganza. That’s not all though.

Five Finger Death Punch, Backyard Babies, Opeth, Meshuggah, Hammerfall, D-A-D, Airbourne, Nuclear Assault, Exodus, H.E.A.T., The Quireboys, Exciter, Delan and again, lots more. Sweden Rock have confirmed they still have roughly 50 more bands to be announced so keep an eye on their official site for details as they unfold.

Download 2015: Day 1 and 2 confirmed. 3rd leaked?

Well festival season is off to an early start this year. Yesterday the mighty Hellfest released info on over 120 bands that are set to perform at next year’s event and this week Download have been teasing out the first two days of next year’s event with the third and final day set to be confirmed tomorrow, Nov. 19th.

So far, Download have confirmed Slipknot, Judas Priest, Five Finger Death Punch and Black Stone Cherry will be the major names for Day one of the festival (June 12th 2015) followed by MUSE, Faith No More, A Day to Remember and Marilyn Manson on Saturday the 13th of June.

In a TBC post, it seems Gene Simmons, legendary bassist and singer with KISS, Gene Simmons, may have ‘accidently’ leaked the Day 03 line-up. According to his pretty genuine looking poster, the bands set to appear are KISS themselves, Motley Crue, Slash and Enter Shikari. However this hasn’t been confirmed and all will be revealed tomorrow morning at 08:00 am so stay tuned to the official website.

Over a hundred or so more bands will be announced over the coming months. Basic weekend tickets (3 nights camping) will set you back about £205. Check Ticketmaster for more options and prices. They go on sale this Thursday, Nov. 20th.

Hellfest have announced over 120 of the bands that are set to appear on next year’s bill which will take place between the 19th and 21st of June 2015 in Clisson, France. Headlining the event will be Slipknot, Scorpions and Faith No More. with Judas Priest, ZZ Top, Slash, Motorhead, Alice Copper, Marilyn Manson, Venom, Cannibal Corpse, Anthrax, Exodus, Mayhem and many, many more also on the bill. This is the major portion of the festival with 30 more additions expected over the next few months.

HELLFEST Running Order Leaks

Hellfest 2014, potentially the greatest metal festival of all time is just two months away and that should be just enough time to narrow down your viewing choices for the weekend now that the running order has been leaked. Is it genuine? It sure seems to be and this writer is currently marking off the must see’s according to it. For anyone who hasn’t realized it, Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, Slayer, Megadeth, Soundgarden, Aerosmith, Emperor, Carcass, Death, Monster Magnet and hundreds of others will be descending upon Clisson, France to raise…nah, no need to say that. They’re going to be there., they’re going to put on the greatest three days of live music we’ve ever seen and we’re going to return to our respective homes as pale, shallow vessels of our former selves. We shall never skip an opportunity about that one weekend in 2014 where heavy Metal and heaven met on a field for three days and how it was the peak in our otherwise unfulfilling lives. ..>Well, it is Tuesday after a bank holiday – I’m allowed to be depressing.

EHT Announces Second UNLEASHED FESTIVAL

EHT have announced details for the second UNLEASHED FESTIVAL which is due to take place in Fibber MaGee’s this September. 28 bands have been announced so far with more to come. Once again the festival will take place over three days, with the third day being opened up for under age fans (no vodka, whiskey, tequila cocktails for you though – Ha!….my live hurts).

Sinocence, Malevolence and Sworn Against are topping the bills with some undeniably massive names from our local scene popping up over the three days, including Killface, Animator, Vile Regression, AeSect, Hollow Truth and many, many more. No details have been released on weekend tickets, but entry to the Friday and Saturday shows will cost a mere €8 each. Full line’s and dates can be viewed below. SIEGE OF LIMERICK X Announced For October Bank Holiday Weekend

The tenth Siege of Limerick has been announced and it’s going to be a monster. With a headliner still to confirm next month, the Siege have already announced a mouth-watering line-up of metal delights that are sure to entice.

So far, over twenty bands have been announce including UK, Switz, Spanish, Swedish, German and Irish bands with more to come. The current line-up can be seen below,

MONSTERS OF ROT III FESTIVAL – NEXT MONTH!

Tickets There have been too slow for this one, but it’s not too late. Next month will see the third instalment of the annual MONSTERS OF ROT festival in Co. The bill so far includes eleven ear crushing bands including Dichotomy, Gargantuan, Rex Shachath (some lads from Overoth), On Pain of Death, Grinned and more.

It takes place on Saturday, August 24th at The Halfway Inn in Letterbreen and will only set you back £10. Adding to this, the festival will also include camping facilities, fully stocked bar, toilets and a Meat and Vegan friendly BBQ (Vegans please make sure you read the next story – you do not belong in metal – and stop reading Tickets There). On top of that, the organizers have arranged a free taxi service from Enniskillen to the venue so what more could you honestly ask for?

NSX Festival Announce First Acts and Ticket Details

This August, Louth will prepare itself for two days of heavy metal, hard rock, blues, psychbilly, punk and motorbikes as the NSX Festival muscles its way onto the summer circuit for the first time ever.

Mixing bands from both the North and South, NSZ boasts a strong line-up of home-grown talent, spread over three stages and two days for a great price. Tickets There favourites Trucker Diablo and Gama Bomb are just two of the 44 bands already announced. Others can be found below and there’ll be more names added over the coming weeks.

Glasgowbury Announce first acts for 2013 Festival (The Answer, ASIWYFA plus many more)

Glasgowbury is now entering its thirteenth year as a festival and it just keeps getting better. Yesterday they announced the first list of names who’ll be appearing this year and there’s tasty choices for all music heads out there.

The festival aims to support local Northern Irish bands and The Answer, The Japanese Popstars and And So I Watch You From Afar aim to bring in the punters and demonstrate how strong Northern bands are right now. Helping them in this task will be (deep breath) Jetplane Landing, Little Bear, Axis Of, Ed Zealous, In Their Thousands, More Than Conquerors, Million Dollar Reload, Trucker Diablo, The Bonnevilles, Runaway GO, PigsAsPeople, Vanilla Gloom, The Wood Burning Savages, Pretty Child Backfire, Furlo, Robyn G Shiels and Rosie Carney – with many, many more still to be announced (about 50 from what we’ve heard).

The festival will take place over two days for the first time, July 20^th – 21^st with a ‘County Derry Showcase’ happening on the 19^th…so really a three day job. If you want more than music to spend three nights ibn a field then Glasgowbury have you sorted as they’ve also announced their G-Spot Comedy stage will return and there’ll be a heap of carnival/Samba band activated, technology and gaming demonstrations / activities.
