Trucker Diablo part ways with Guitarist

Posted in Music, News with tags , on February 14, 2014 by Tickets There

Trucker-Diablo-Band-Pic-FightSad news over the past couple of weeks for Trucker Diablo fans. The big truck have announced Simon Haddock has left the band. Simon is leaving for personal reasons and they all remain friends which is refreshing, but unfortunate news. The original line-up played their last show together at the Diamond Rock club last weekend (Feb 8th) and Trucker are now on the hunt for Simon’s replacement.

So think you have what it takes? Trucker are looking and it could be you (and you might have found out here and when Trucker are massively famous you’ll be like, Oh forget you Rolling Stone – the TT gets our attention first. ‘Hey TT’, you’ll say. ‘Come on tour with us while we support Motorhead‘. I’d be all cool at first, but I’d find a way to blow it sooner or later. Anyway – THEY WANT YOU!

Simon, very sad to hear you’re going but your reasons are obviously very understandable. I’ve enjoyed the music you made with the guys and wish you the very best for the future. Hopefully we’ll see you back with a guitar soon.

glasgowbury

Glasgowbury is now entering its thirteenth year as a festival and it just keeps getting better. Yesterday they announced the first list of names who’ll be appearing this year and there’s tasty choices for all music heads out there.

133059_1787976945938_1434990324_31885493_7829037_oThe festival aims to support local Northern Irish bands and The Answer, The Japanese Popstars and And So I Watch You From Afar aim to bring in the punters and demonstrate how strong Northern bands are right now. Helping them in this task will be (deep breath) Jetplane Landing, Little Bear, Axis Of, Ed Zealous, In Their Thousands, More Than Conquerors, Million Dollar Reload, Trucker Diablo, The Bonnevilles, Runaway GO, PigsAsPeople, Vanilla Gloom, The Wood Burning Savages, Pretty Child Backfire, Furlo, Robyn G Shiels and Rosie Carney – with many, many more still to be announced (about 50 from what we’ve heard).

The festival will take place over two days for the first time, July 20th – 21st with a ‘County Derry Showcase’ happening on the 19th…so really a three day job. If you want more than music to spend three nights ibn a field then Glasgowbury have you sorted as they’ve also announced their G-Spot Comedy stage will return and there’ll be a heap of carnival/Samba band activated, technology and gaming demonstrations / activities.

Tickets for Glasgowbury 2013, priced from just £35, are on sale now from this location.

Trucker Diablo release official ‘DRIVE’ video

Posted in Gig Review, Music, News with tags , , , , , on March 28, 2013 by Tickets There

The big truck just keeps on rolling! Trucker Diablo have just released the official video for ‘Drive’, the first single from their sophomore album, Songs of Iron, which is due for release in May. If you’re looking for a solid slice of fun loving, sing along rock then look no further than this little anthem. There’s also more depth than I was expecting from the album’s first single. Unlike ‘Drink Beer, Destroy’, ‘Drive’ offers a solace message for dealing with heartbreak; without losing any of the bands knack for catchiness.

Remember, they’re supporting Kopek @ The Workman’s Club on Saturday, April 6th. Don’t miss this rare chance to catch one of this Island’s best rock bands in Dublin.

Thin Lizzy Line-up Announce Hiatus and Name Change for New Album

Posted in Gig Listing, Music, News with tags , , , , , , , , , , on October 31, 2012 by Tickets There

We were slow for this news, but it must be said. The current line-up of Thin Lizzy have announced they will cease touring under the Lizzy name at the end of this year. Once the band complete their European tour in December, they will officially drop the Thin Lizzy name and announce a new one next year. The band have recently been discussing a new Lizzy album but have now decided to release it with a fresh start.

Despite the name drop, frontman Ricky Warwick did state that this does not necessarily mean the end of Thin Lizzy outright and the line-up may tour as Lizzy again in the future. For now the band want to focus on their new record that they feel is strong enough to win over Lizzy fans and make former singer and all round Irish legend – Phil Lynott, proud.

Details will follow on Tickets There when the band announce further plans. In the meantime, catch Thin Lizzy when they play the last two Irish dates for a while,

Wed/Dec-12 Belfast, N.I. The Limelight (with Trucker Diablo supporting in Belfast)

Thu/Dec-13 Dublin, Ireland Olympia Theatre

Tickets on sale now from ticketmaster.ie priced £29.50 (BEL) | €27.50 -39.50 (DUB)

Yesterday we gave ye the awesome Trucker Diablo, today it’s another of Northern Ireland’s fine young crop of hard hitting, heavy rocking, word that rhymes with c**king bands. Million $ Reload become firm favourites of ours a couple of years back so they’re no strangers to praise from TT.

They’ve recently released the official video for their track Bullets In The Sky and we think you’ll like it. Hail The Gods of 4 season’s metal (take that Crunch promotions!). According to my sources across the border, M$R, Trucker Diablo and the awesome Swanee River (and more) will all be playing a show next weekend at the The Diamond Rock Club in Ahoghill on 4th Feb. If you live close by you’d be a bloody mornon to miss it. Enjoy the tune!

Trucker Diablo’s Debut Album Gets US Release

Posted in Music, New Music, News with tags , , , , on January 26, 2012 by Tickets There

Excuse certain bloggers tardiness on this one, but we couldn’t not mention the fact that Trucker Diablo, one of the most exciting things happening in hard rock have re-released their debut album ‘The Devil Rhythm’ through Ripple; a California based record label. They’ve also got the official video for ‘Drink Beer, Destroy’ out there and it’s kicking ass all over YouTube and on Kerrang Radio. The re-rellease features 3 additional bonus tracks including one new recording and two live recordings from last years Download Festival in the U.K.

If you haven’t heard this record then you need to pick it up. For fans of AC/DC, Guns, Metallica… it’ll be right up your ally. More fury than a dragon and more power than Tyson. Tickets There sold out and put our review elsewhere but mark my words, you’ll be seeing a lot more about these guys in 2012.
