Def Leppard have confirmed they will be headlining the Download Festival on Friday, June 10th followed by a 18 date US Tour with folk rockers Heart. According to Def Leppard’s official site, more dates (including some non-US) ones will be announced on Monday so stay tuned for more details.

As reported previously on Tickets There, Leppard are still due to release a live album recorded during their 2009 US tour. The album is due out in May and the title has been confirmed as Mirrorball…..we know but hey, soon there’ll be a new studio album and we can forget the title of this. One thing, it will still feature three brand spanking new studio tracks with hints that Leppard have returned to a more hard rock sound. We wait with bated breath.

Def Leppard Live Album Due Out In May

Posted in Music, News with tags , , , , , , , on January 13, 2011 by Tickets There

We were holding out for more details but it seems everything there is to know about this has been made public by the band now. Its official, Def Leppard are aiming to release their first ever full live album in May this year which will be followed by a US / Canadian tour with Kansas and Heart. There has been no mention of dates outside of the US or Canada as of yet.

The Live record is being taken from the bands 2009 tour which included shows at Dublin’s O2 Arena and a headlining appearance at the Download Festival in the U.K (although there is still no confirmation what shows the live record will be comprised from). Lead singer Joe Elliott and bass player Rick Savage are currently in Dublin (no, haven’t seen them yet L) listening through various live recordings from the tour trying to gauge the best possible versions of the tracks to use. We’re presuming producer Ronan McHugh is also involved.

The record is also set to feature four new tracks from the band which are currently being recorded by the different members in different parts of the world. We’ll tell you more as we know it.

Def Leppard: 2011 Tour to Feature Kansas and Heart

Posted in Music, News with tags , , , , on November 25, 2010 by Tickets There

Not sure what to make of this one but apparently Def Leppard’s 2011 tour (for the States presumably, official details are still pending) will feature none other than Kansas (Carry on my Wayward Son / Dust In The Wind) and Heart (?? Two folk chick singers) as co-headliners / Special guests.

Several members from Leppard have hinted over the last few months that a tour and possible album/EP release will come out in 2011 and all ‘unconfirmed reports’ aside, this seems to be 100% go and we’re just waiting for dates.

Dashed are Tickets There’s dreams that Whitesnake and the Lepp might make the 2008/9 line-up a permanent tour feature. Ah well, maybe we’ll all become Kansas fans soon, the Americans seem to like them. We’ll bring you more when we have it. I guess it’s time to call Joe Elliott up for a cooling bottle of Down ‘N’ Outz and find out exactly what’s going down.
