HELLFEST TICKET UPDATE

You may have noticed Tickets There has gone a little HELLFEST mental today. Anyone wondering why needs their head examined! HELLFEST 2014 is easily the greatest line-up any festival has to offer this year. In fact it might simply be the greatest line-up for any metal festival of all time.

It’s like they just announced every great band in the world that didn’t play in 2013. Iron Maiden, Aerosmith, Black Sabbath, Megadeth, Slayer, Sepultura, Soundgarden, Emperor, Rob Zombie, Deep Purple, Soulfly, DEATH DTA, Carcass, Opeth – the list is endless and everyone seems to know.

Hellfest are officially sold out of three day passes and day passes EXCEPT (get excited) for Sunday, June 22nd. If you want one of your last chances to catch Sabbath, Soundgarden, Megadeth, Emperor, Iced Earth, Annihilator, Behemoth, Opeth, Paradise Lost, 1349, VREID and many, many more – then book now.

UPDATED: Sinate Announce Irish Shows

New Zealand thrash / death metallers SINATE have announced two Irish shows as part of their 2014 European tour later this year.

The group will first be heading to the lovely Belfast before making their way to Dublin the following night to hit up (where else?), Fibber MaGees. Locals Syphor will support both dates with additional guests in Dublin including Legion of Wolves and 2 more TBC.

22nd of August – Limelight 2, Belfast (Changed from Charlie’s Bar – Enniskillen).
23rd of August – Fibber MaGee’s – Dublin.

Tickets will set you back €8. JD Metal Promotions are arranging the show and you can follow updates on the Facebook Page.

Gorgoroth + Vital Remains Announce Dublin show

Now we’re talking. First Overkill, then Amon Amarth and now GORGOROTH are a coming. DME have confirmed the Norwegian band will play The Voodoo Lounge on April 4^th and they’re bringing US band VITAL REMAINS with them. Ticket’s will set you back €25 and guests will be announced closer to the date. In the meantime, here’s a little something I stole about Gorgoroth from DME’s website.

After making a pact with the Devil in 1992, Infernus founded Gorgoroth, an early Norwegian black metal band. Gorgoroth has released albums on labels such as Nuclear Blast, Century Media, Season of Mist, Malicious Records and Regain Records, and has toured extensively abroad. The line-up has been subject to several changes, with Infernus being the only remaining original member. After Gorgoroth’s controversial gig in Poland in February 2004, massive media attention led to an increase in both notoriety and record sales for the already infamous band. The band’s latest album, “Under the Sign of Hell 2011″, was released in late 2011. Infernus and drummer Tomas Asklund are currently at work on the next studio album “Instinctus Bestialis”, to be released by a yet-to-be-determined label.

Aibourne Playing Dublin – Tickets There Too Selfish to care!

Would you look at that! TT was so wrapped up in their bullsh*t to even notice Airbourne have gone and schedule a show at Dublin’s Academy on October 22^nd. The dirty rockers are plugging their new album, Black Dog Barking which came out back in May. Haven’t seen them before but it should be a great gig. According to the article I’m currently reading / stealing from, they’re well worth checking out.. so that’s good.

For this writer, I’ll be happy so long as they play ‘Runnin’ Wild’! Tickets for their show are on sale from today priced 25 quid.

Rotting Christ Announce November show at The Pint

Still reeling from the news about DEATH playing in November? Well hold on those hats again because DME have landed another storming show for the same month. The great Rotting Christ are coming to The Pint on November 3^rd!

The Greek black metallers are touring their most recent album, Kata ton Daimona Eaytoy, and will be supported by Twilight of the Gods (featuring Primordial’s Alan Averill) and Negura Bunget. Tickets are priced €25 and go on sale from all usual outlets next Friday, August 30^th.

DEATH DTA Announce Dublin date!!!

Hold onto your excited caps, legendary death metallers and widely renowned inventors of the genre, DEATH, have announced a European tour and Dublin is bang smack in the middle!

The band, thrilled with the success of their recent North American DTA tour, have decided to come and visit Europe and give fans the DEATH experience they’ve craved for so long. This show will feature most of the HUMAN line-up era and they’ll mostly be playing tracks from that album, as well as other DEATH classics.

This all takes place November 27th @ The Academy. Tickets on sale next Friday, Aug 30th for €27.50

DEATH – the legend lives on!!!

In 1998, “The sound of perseverance” – the very last studio album of progressive death metal icons DEATH from Florida – saw the light of day, and in 2001 their charismatic band leader, guitar god and sound pioneer Chuck Schuldiner tragically passed away. Many years later, the towering monolith of Chuck`s and DEATH`s testimony hasn`t even faintly started to crumble, and cult albums such as “Leprosy” (1988) or “Symbolic” (1995) remain untouchable!

Whilst older generations have their (live) memories to treasure, there`s a big bunch of younger death metal freaks who could get in touch with DEATH only via DVD or Youtube – and it`s about time we changed this! Earlier this year, the “DTA” tribute tour excited thousands of American fans, and in November 2013 this awesome trek will finally make it to Europe…

The DEATH line up consists of “Human” legends Sean Reinert (drums), Paul Masvidal (guitars) and Steve DiGiorgio (bass). Max Phelps – some of you will have seen him performing live with CYNIC – will step in Chuck`s footsteps. This amazing tribute line up will perform songs from every DEATH era!

NAPALM DEATH Added to Children of Bodom Show

DME – obviously totally pi$$sed off with our original short post about Children of Bodom’s October show have gone and done something very, very special – Cleary to prompt a more meaty post from yours truly. Why else would they do it? To appease the great unwashed? I think now.

English legends and metal veteran alumni, Napalm Death, have been added as very special guests for the COB show on October 10^th. Anyone that read the TT Report on this year’s HELLFEST will know we only really took note of ND a few months back and a chance to see them, again so soon is very, very welcome.

Also added to the bill are Insomnium and Medeia. All happens in Vicar St. on October 10^th.

There DME, there you go. Are you happy now? Is that enough to finally end this? I can’t keep living like this and I can’t be expected to write big long drawn out posts that have little or nothing to do with music. You can’t expect anymore!

Looking to get your sleaze rock buzz on? Then D.M.E. got you covered son! Buckcherry and Hardcore Superstar are coming to the Academy and Limelight 2 in November for a co-headlining show that promises to deliver a lot of riffs, a lot of sing-alongs and a sh*t ton of hairspray. (Guest list baby!!!!!!!!!!!!)

Tickets for Dublin are on sale next Wednesday, June 19^th priced €25. Support comes from The Last Vegas.

SLAYER Announce August Date for Belfast

Well it’s the fourth post in a row about these guys, but why the hell not! The mighty Slayer have officially announced a second 2013 date for Belfast which is happening August 13^th. Fans were surprised when a second Belfast date wasn’t added after the first gig sold out in three minutes. But, when gig shirts were bought in Dublin on Monday, a second (at the time, unannounced) gig magically appeared on their roster.

The band will again play the Limelight with tickets going on sale tomorrow from ticketmaster.ie priced £38 plus booking fees. If you missed their Dublin/Belfast gigs – you would be well advised to catch them at this one.

Nine Inch Nails Added to Belsonic 2013

Trent Reznor is back, as are his greatest creation. Movie soundtracks? Bollocks! Trent knows his rightful place is at the helm of industrial music’s answer to ABBA (does that make sense? It’s late, you’re probably not reading this too closely anyway. Look at the pretty picture. I took that in 2007).

Nine Inch Nails are the latest headliners to join the Belsonic festival this year. I’ll be honest – all the dates suck except August 21^st when NIN will make their return to Irish shores with And So I Watch You From Afar supporting. How freaking good does that sound?

Tickets are on sale tomorrow morning, Friday May 31^st @ 09:00am priced £30.

D.M.E. Day Of Suffering: Stage Times Announced

D.M.E. have confirmed the stage times for this Saturday’s Day of Suffering. American purveyors of gore, Exhumed, headline the ten extreme metal band extravaganza….hmm, no. Exhumed headline the ten band circus of carnage, which takes place at the Pint all Saturday afternoon/night. On the bill are TT favourites Killface, Dead Aeon and Atheos and many more.

Tickets are €15 and only available on the door so get down early. It all starts at 2pm with the first band, Apocalyptic Masterpiece due on at 14:40 (plenty of time to get in there, order and settle). Stage times are listed below. This will be a messy one!

NSX Festival Announce First Acts and Ticket Details

This August, Louth will prepare itself for two days of heavy metal, hard rock, blues, psychbilly, punk and motorbikes as the NSX Festival muscles its way onto the summer circuit for the first time ever.

Mixing bands from both the North and South, NSZ boasts a strong line-up of home-grown talent, spread over three stages and two days for a great price. Tickets There favourites Trucker Diablo and Gama Bomb are just two of the 44 bands already announced. Others can be found below and there’ll be more names added over the coming weeks.

ASH & The Happy Mondays Announced for Live At Leopardstown

No matter how metal this site gets, there will always be room for my pop rock fetish, ASH and me MAD:Chester maddies – The Happy Mondays and both bands are coming to Ireland this year. Can I please get a, ‘Ah hell yeah’!

Both bands have been announced as part of this summer’s Live At Leopardstown line-up. There are other bands… but you’ll have to go elsewhere to read about them [grins]. It all happens on July 25^th (ASH) and August 15^th (Happy Mondays) and you can get each ticket for €15 which includes access to the races that day and the gig after.

There’s loads of onsite restaurants and bars to help the evening pass so make a proper go of it. First race is at 6pm with gigs starting around 9.15pm. Tickets on sale now via leopardstown.com

EVILE Announce Low Price Return to Dublin

After playing to a sold out crowd at The Academy last night, EVILE announced they’ll return to the Button Factory on September 27^th – and they’re doing it on the uber-cheap with tickets costing just €7.50.

Evile were in town supporting Kreator and are currently readying their new album, SKULL which is due for release on May 27th. Tickets go on sale May 3rd and the show is 14+. Check Dublin Metal Events (D.M.E.) for more details on support.

Black Star Riders Announce Dublin Date

Black Star Riders, the new band from members of the current Thin Lizzy line-up, have announced a Dublin date. The group will perform their first show in Dublin on December 14^th at the Academy. Tickets go on sale this Friday, April 26^th priced €25.

BSR have recently finished recording their debut album together, All Hell Breaks Loose and have a release date pencilled in for June. They formed after decided to distance their new material from the Lizzy name for fear of upsetting hardcore TL heads. In the ranks are Ricky Warwick (vocals), Scott Gorham (guitar), Damon Johnson (guitar), Marco Mendoza (bass) with new addition Jimmy DeGrasso (ALICE COOPER, MEGADETH, DAVID LEE ROTH, SUICIDAL TENDENCIES).

HATEBREED Announce Whelan’s Show

Last Slayer Tickets On Sale Now

Apparently the last few tickets for Slayer’s June 11th show have been released. The Academy only holds 850 people (according to Wiki) so I can’t imagine there’s too many left. SLAYER Announce 2013 Dublin & Belfast shows

It’s the news we’ve been waiting for! Legendary thrash metal band, Slayer, have confirmed shows in both Dublin and Belfast for this summer. The war starting juggernauts will steamroll into Ireland to play two intimate shows at Dublin’s The Academy and Belfast’s Limelight on May 10^th and 12^th respectively. Old filthty Tickets There is holding out hope that second nights may still be added.

Tickets are €42.50 and £35 (again respectively) and go on sale this Friday, March 8^th (as confirmed by MCD for Dublin). They’ll be flogging them on Ticketmaster if you’re up in time.

SLANE 2013 Confirmed

If you’ve been near a computer this morning you’ll know that Slane is coming back next year. The one day festival was last held in 2011 when (ugh – sorry to mention their name during your lunch), Kings of Leon (no tags / links / bold text – nuttin’) headlined. This year’s headliners are being announced Monday, October 30th with The Rolling Stones, Fleetwood Mac and AC/DC (again) all being tipped to take the slot. Tickets There votes for AC/DC, supported by Iron Maiden & Motorhead!
