Rage Against The Machine: Irish Tour Date Announced

Posted in Music, News with tags , , , , , , on February 15, 2010 by Tickets There

Fresh on the heels of their very first U.K. Number 1, Rage Against The Machine have announced They’ll play Dublin’s O2 Arena on June 8th, one day after KISS destroy the place.

Date: 8th June 2010
Venue: O2 Arena, Dublin
Cost: €65.60 – €70.70
Info: Tickets will be on sale this Friday (the 19th) from ticketmaster.ie. Limited to 8 per person. Normal fees apply.

Ticket Detials can be viewed @ This Location and Promo notes can be read @ This Location.

Last week, RATM announced details of a free gig in London’s Finsbury Park on June 6th to celebrate the band beating this years X-Factor finalist (name shall not be mentioned) to the coveted U.K. Christmas Number 1 slot, ending X-Factor’s monopoly on the position. The bands classic, Killing In The Name Of, grabbed the top place after a facebook campaign was started in the UK specifically designed to beat the X-Factor finalist. KITNO reached number 2 in Ireland.

UPDATE – 10:48 (15th Feb)

Tickets will cost you a pretty steep €67.50. If KISS can manage to play the same venue with a much bigger stage show for €49.5, I’d love to know why Rage have to add an additional €20 for their gig. Seems the anti-capitalist group are making Irish fans pay for their English fans free gig.

Check MCD Promotions for more.

Slash – Solo Album Artwork, Track list and Release Date Announced

Posted in Music, News with tags , , , , , , , , on February 3, 2010 by Tickets There

Ex-Guns N’ Roses and current (apparent) Velvet Revolver axe legend Slash is nearly ready to release his much anticipated debut solo album. The record, entitled Slash, is coming to all good music shops and, strangely enough, newsagents on May 10th in the UK (April in the States).

As well as a standard record release, Slash, Roadrunner Records and Classic Rock magazine have teamed up to release a special feature magazine dedicated to Slash’s career that will come with an bonus version of the album.

Slash has been recording the album over the last year and he’s recruited half the recording industry to make it happen. Each track features a different guest vocalist and Slash is confident it’s the best project he’s ever been involved in.

While Tickets There would like to remain confident, his recent work, namely Velvet Revolver and his first solo single, Sahara (not featured on the album thank Christ!) leave little to be desired. Hopefully this album will produce the miraculous turnaround all his fans want to see him make and restore him to his former credibility.

Tracklist

01. Ghost (Ian Astbury, feat. Izzy Stradlin) (3:34)
02. Crucify The Dead (Ozzy Osbourne) (4:04)
03. Beautiful Dangerous (Fergie) (4:35)

05. By The Sword (Andrew Stockdale) (4:50)
06. Gotten (Adam Levine) (5:05)
07. Doctor Alibi (Lemmy) (3:07)
08. Watch This Dave (Dave Grohl, Duff McKagan) (3:46)
09. I Hold On (Kid Rock) (4:10)

Howdy folks,

In November 2007, Tickets There was started as a laugh after watching the EyeBrowy Tout Spaced skit. Over the last two years things haven’t changed a whole pile except we’re swearing less and people are reading more. We’ve had a great laugh doing it and we’ve discovered loads of fantastic music which, at the end of the day is the whole point behind this blog. We don’t make money from TT and we don’t want to. We’re not in this for anything other than to find good bands and give them as much exposure as we can.

Today, Tickets There finally has its perfect home and we’re proud to announce that our new address is

www.ticketsthere.com.

Since it cost a kingly sum of over $14 to get this up and running, you can be sure Tickets There will be working overtime to make this a decent blog for you to read, for us to enjoy and most importantly, to give the bands we like a respectable source of feedback. Tickets There aren’t critics, we’re music fans.

Thanks alot for making all this worthwhile and I can promise you this is the last nicey nice post you’ll be seeing on this site for awhile. Now, on with the show!!

Kindest Regards,
Tickets There! (Broke N Bloggin / Irish Noise!)

This year’s shortlist is surrounded in the usual mystery but Tickets There feels fairly certain And So I Watch You From Afar will be one of the nominees. If they’re not, there’s something wrong.

We’ll update this post as soon as the shortlists been announced.

Live, From Hollywood California – GUNS N’ ROSES

Posted in Music, News with tags , , , , , , on January 13, 2010 by Tickets There

Well it isn’t difficult to judge what today’s most popular search will be. Legendary, beloved heroes of Tickets There, Guns N’ Roses are opening the first night of a thirteen date Canadian tour tonight in Winnipeg.

The tour officially opened last month when the group played a mini tour of Asia consisting of four dates in Taiwan, Japan and South Korea. The shows were rapturously well received and rather than a burnt out shell of a formerly great band, the world got to see a glimpse of the strongest GNR lineup since the golden days of the late eighties. All the shows ran close to the three hour mark with their last show in Japan reaching three hours and thirty seven minutes.

The bands latest album, Chinese Democracy was released in 2008 but to a lot of fans disappointment, it wasn’t promoted with music video’s, interviews or a tour. Rumor has it lead singer, Axl Rose was unhappy with the way the release was handled and simply disappeared, shunning all his promotional agreements.

Tickets There would like to wish Axl, Ron and all the boys the best of luck on the tour. All going well, these shows will pave the way for the much anticipated European / American shows later in the year.

Check Tickets There’ Twitter or GNRDaily.com for more details.
