The most exciting thing about this time of year is the anticipation of the forthcoming summer nights of metal, booze and good people. Yesterday the second Unleashed Festival was confirmed to be taking place again in Fibbers and now the DAY OF DECAY II has been announced. Tickets There will never live down having to miss last year’s amazing line-up, but the good folks at Beyond Decay Promotions have a very tasty list of bands to make this year’s event just as good. Oh, and did we mention this year’s it’s TWO DAYS OF DECAY? That’s right!
UK based death metallers DYSCARNATE will headline the two day event that sees international and the best of our home grown ass kickers share two stages over two days. Fibber MaGee’s will once again host BASEMENT TORTURE KILLINGS, BLACK SKIES BURN, FOUL BODY AUTOPSY, XENOCIDE, VILE REGRESSION, ATONEMENT, ABHORRENT DECIMATION, SKEWERED, zhOra, TWISTED AUTOCRACY, DEAD AEON, KILLFACE and more to be announced.

By Saturday all of us or going to be well sick of all this Valentine’s day nonsense. The flowers, the love, the pure and utter sh*te of it all (my comments have nothing to do with the fact that I’m recently single…). Anyways, to celebrate that day ending, CARNAGE have a pretty tasty line-up in Fibbers on Saturday the 15th.
For Ruin, Overoth & Rex Shachath are all playing upstairs in Fibbers under the carnage banner. It’s just €5 on the door which is a pretty amazing price for these three bands and don’t go forgetting the many drink promos that always come with Carnage. See you there!
Dublin metal trio, Snowblind are set to release their debut E.P. on Valentines day. Before you going thinking lovey dovey shloopy gak, remember this is metal .. and it’s taking place at the most unromantic* club night in Dublin – CLUB CARANGE! The dark, metal filled dungeons of Fibbers will make the perfect setting for Existence Is Futile to make it’s mark.
*Unromantic should not be taken as a slur against Carnage. While not for the shoulder sweaters and wistful smiles, it is always hard chocked with gorgeous delights from the female metal community and of course, massive hairy (but polite, pleasant and funny) lads.
Now we’re talking. First Overkill, then Amon Amarth and now GORGOROTH are a coming. DME have confirmed the Norwegian band will play The Voodoo Lounge on April 4th and they’re bringing US band VITAL REMAINS with them. Ticket’s will set you back €25 and guests will be announced closer to the date. In the meantime, here’s a little something I stole about Gorgoroth from DME’s website.
After making a pact with the Devil in 1992, Infernus founded Gorgoroth, an early Norwegian black metal band. Gorgoroth has released albums on labels such as Nuclear Blast, Century Media, Season of Mist, Malicious Records and Regain Records, and has toured extensively abroad. The line-up has been subject to several changes, with Infernus being the only remaining original member. After Gorgoroth’s controversial gig in Poland in February 2004, massive media attention led to an increase in both notoriety and record sales for the already infamous band. The band’s latest album, “Under the Sign of Hell 2011″, was released in late 2011. Infernus and drummer Tomas Asklund are currently at work on the next studio album “Instinctus Bestialis”, to be released by a yet-to-be-determined label.
Viking metal returns to Dublin this summer as the epic Amon Amarth are returning to the Limelight and Academy as part of their Deceiver of the Gods tour. Now I’ve never seen these guys live and I’ve kicked myself every time I’ve passed on the chance to go. Expect Tickets There making an appearance in Dublin at least.
The shows take place in August 12th (Belfast) and 13th (Dublin) and tickets go on sale today from Ticketmaster priced £27.5 and €30 respectively. Actually respectively nothing – Vikings! Never thought Ireland would be so welcome to repeated returns by these horned lunatics!

The legendary OVERKILL are coming to Dublin this year to play what we believe (correct if needed) to be their very first show on Irish soil.
They’re set to take over the Academy on March 15th to deliver a night of new material (which is awesome) and classics (which are also awesome) and bring some tasty support in the form of Xentrix and Skeletonwitch. Tickets on sale now from Ticketmaster priced €26.50 inc fees.

Can you believe it? Dublin, we’re in for another night of GAMA BOMB! Anyone who attended the mighty UnLeashed Festival at Fibber MaGee’s last August will remember the incredible performance put on by the GB and they’re coming again for round 2 of the Terror Tapes Tour.
E.H.T. are again promoting the night which is happening on March 7th upstairs in Fibbers (Venue changes from Voodoo Lounge to Fibbers). Entry is €5 and support will include Psykosis, Dead Label, AeSect, Hollow Truth and Katabolisis. Exactly! what sort of a total f***tard would you have to be to miss this show? Probably as bad as Tickets There when we missed the Season’s Beatings show last month. Anyways…

Cunning Metal Promotions are bringing some of the hottest name from the Irish metal scene to Waterford this month for a night of unadulterated lunacy.
WARPATH are set to headline the Waterford Metal Fest which is taking place in The Forum on January 25th. Also on the bill are Psykosis, Killface, Atominated, Xenocide, Animator, Zhora, Awaken Dominion, Uproot Chaos and 12 Guage Outrage, Legion of Wolves with more to be added. Entry is just €7 and the whole thing is due to kick off around 3pm.

Would you look at that! TT was so wrapped up in their bullsh*t to even notice Airbourne have gone and schedule a show at Dublin’s Academy on October 22nd. The dirty rockers are plugging their new album, Black Dog Barking which came out back in May. Haven’t seen them before but it should be a great gig. According to the article I’m currently reading / stealing from, they’re well worth checking out.. so that’s good.
For this writer, I’ll be happy so long as they play ‘Runnin’ Wild’! Tickets for their show are on sale from today priced 25 quid.
Still reeling from the news about DEATH playing in November? Well hold on those hats again because DME have landed another storming show for the same month. The great Rotting Christ are coming to The Pint on November 3rd!
The Greek black metallers are touring their most recent album, Kata ton Daimona Eaytoy, and will be supported by Twilight of the Gods (featuring Primordial’s Alan Averill) and Negura Bunget. Tickets are priced €25 and go on sale from all usual outlets next Friday, August 30th.
Syphor are coming back! Next month the band will officially launch the followup to 2011’s Stained Glass Blasphemy, with the release of their second album, For What Remains.
Quite the night they’re shaping up as well. In addition to their headling set, they’re also bringing in Scylla, Atominated and Twisted Autocracy. Admission is just €4 in and there’ll be a cd/t-short package on ‘For What Remains’ at the show for just €10. All happens at The Pint, September 21st. Doors @ 8pm, First band onstage at 9. Red Enemy seem to be a little bored of hanging around for their debut album these days. In order to combat it, they’ve put together one very tasty line-up in Fibber MaGee’s this Friday. Aside from themselves, their show will feature Two Tales of Woe (I thought they split up years ago?), Vile Regression, Hollow Truth and Leatspiders. That’s this Friday, upstairs in Fibbers. The price? Well Red Enemy want to see bodies packed in for a good time so they’re going with a ‘pay what you feel’ policy. So thrown in a couple of euro or a tenner, your choice.
Remember, bands and promoters who put on these free shows generally do it at a loss. If you want to see local talent going up the ranks then don’t be a cheap skate. For five bands throw in a tenner sher. it’s worth it and you get a full night of entertainment and free drinks. What more could you ask for?
I’m not 100% sure how to report this one as the details seem a little sparse, but this Thursday (Aug 22nd) in Fibber MaGee’s, some chap named John POPE Ryan will get shaved by a tattooist named Philie Ob to the tune of five live bands – and it’s all for charity. Oh, and as the headline says, the shaving happens with a cut-throat razor.
I’m afraid I don’t know about tickets or that, but playing on the night will be the legendary WARPATH, along with Kerouac, Hard Rockin Hobo, Little Brothers and Freddy And The Smokers.

English legends and metal veteran alumni, Napalm Death, have been added as very special guests for the COB show on October 10th. Anyone that read the TT Report on this year’s HELLFEST will know we only really took note of ND a few months back and a chance to see them, again so soon is very, very welcome.
Also added to the bill are Insomnium and Medeia. All happens in Vicar St. on October 10th.
There DME, there you go. Are you happy now? Is that enough to finally end this? I can’t keep living like this and I can’t be expected to write big long drawn out posts that have little or nothing to do with music. You can’t expect anymore!

Guttfuck Promotions have changed their name to Beyond Decay Productions and announced a new show. In addition to the previously announced AMPUTATED show on November 29th, they’ve just conformed that Dutch metallers, Prostitute Disfigurement are coming to Dublin in early September to tear Fibber MaGees a new one (and people please, Fibbers has been torn several new ones this year. Won’t someone please consider the metal venue).
December 7th is the date and ..oh wait, we forgot support. Will no one special, only WARPATH, XENOCIDE and one more TBC!!!!!! For WARPATH and XENOCIDE alone there’s plenty to get excited about so this promised to be one hell of a night.
