Black Star Riders Announce Album Details

Black Star Riders, the band featuring members of the 2012 Thin Lizzy line-up, have announced the title, track listing and release dates for their debut album. All Hell Breaks Loose is coming to a download site/record store near you in May via Nuclear Blast Entertainment.

Thin Lizzy decided to drop the famous name last year while recording All hell breaks Loose. The decision was announced as a way of respecting Phil Lynott’s legacy. The band includes Ricky Warwick (vocals), Scott Gorham (guitar), Damon Johnson (guitar), Marco Mendoza (bass) with new addition Jimmy DeGrasso (ALICE COOPER, MEGADETH, DAVID LEE ROTH, SUICIDAL TENDENCIES) on drums.

Release dates per country can be found below. Oddly enough they have neglected to mention Ireland, something Phil Lynott would never have allowed (ahem). Black Star Riders will kick off once Thin Lizzy wrap up their current and final shows.

ADLER Announce first batch of 2013 European tour dates

Things are a little slow in the Irish metal scene this morning, but L.A. band, ADLER, have gone and announced their first batch of European tour dates. There’s no word of an Irish date yet but perhaps the good people at Dublin Metal Events, MCD or Aiken will try and get them round (hint).

Kicking off in September, The ‘Back From The Dead Tour’ has twelve European shows lined up so far, taking in France, the U.K., Holland, Italy and Switzerland. More shows are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.

ADLER is Steven Adler’s latest project. They released their debut album, Back From the Dead, last year and have a whole summer of north-American touring lined up before they make it over to this side of the pond. Any fans of hair metal / hard rock would do themselves a service by checking these guys out now.

GAMA BOMB Announce New Album Artwork / Track listing and Release Details

Our old pals Gama Bomb are preparing to re-assault the Irish and global metal scene with the release of their fourth album next month. Titled, ‘The Terror Tapes’, this will be the band’s first release since 2009’s ‘Tales From The Grave In Space’.

The Terror Tapes will hit European Shelves on April 19^th followed by a US release on May 7^th. It’s release will be proceeded by their brand new single, Terrorscope which will be made available as a free download on March 26^th. The track listing can be found below,

SLAYER Announce 2013 Dublin & Belfast shows

It’s the news we’ve been waiting for! Legendary thrash metal band, Slayer, have confirmed shows in both Dublin and Belfast for this summer. The war starting juggernauts will steamroll into Ireland to play two intimate shows at Dublin’s The Academy and Belfast’s Limelight on May 10^th and 12^th respectively. Old filthty Tickets There is holding out hope that second nights may still be added.

Tickets are €42.50 and £35 (again respectively) and go on sale this Friday, March 8^th (as confirmed by MCD for Dublin). They’ll be flogging them on Ticketmaster if you’re up in time.

\,,/SLAYER \,,/ in The Academy, does life get any better? The last time I saw them was on an airfield in Warsaw, Before that it was the Point Depot. Meat Loaf: Farewell Tour Confirmed for Dublin & Belfast

Word is in folks, MCD have confirmed Meat Loaf will be playing Belfast’s Odyssey Arena and Dublin’s O2 Arena on May 14th and 17th respectively. Tickets are priced €58.70 for Dublin (no confirmation on Belfast prices yet) and go on sale this Friday, march 1st at 09:00 am.

This will be Meat Loaf’s last visit to Ireland, a country he credits amongst other in Europe as keeping his career going throughout the 80’s and early 90’s. He visit as part of his ‘Last At Bat’ Farewell tour (as previously reported here).

Have SLAYER fired Dave?

Dave Lombardo received an unwelcome letter earlier, when his own band’s solicitor informed him his services won’t be required for Slayer’s upcoming Australian tour.

Dave made a statement which pointed towards his recent interest in the band’s income as the reason. According to Dave, Slayer are only taking home 10% of their touring gross which they then have to split four ways. After starting an investigation with singer Tom Araya, Dave claims to have been cut out of communication and now he’s out of the band (for now at least).

Drummer Jon Ditti will fill in for Dave for the dates listed below. Guitarist Jeff Hanneman is still inactive while recovering from an arm infection.

Slayer have released the following statement to Blabbermouth.net

“SLAYER confirms that Jon Dette will drum for the band on its Australian tour that starts this Saturday, February 23 in Brisbane. As regards Dave Lombardo’s Facebook post, SLAYER does not agree with Mr. Lombardo’s substance or the timeline of the events, except to acknowledge that Mr. Lombardo came to the band less than a week before their scheduled departure for Australia to present an entirely new set of terms for his engagement that were contrary to those that had been previously agreed upon. The band was unable to reach an agreement on these new demands in the short amount of time available prior to leaving for Australia. There is more to the account than what Mr. Lombardo has offered, but out of respect to him, SLAYER will not be commenting further. SLAYER is grateful to its Australian fans for their understanding of this unfortunate last-minute change, and very much looks forward to seeing them at these shows.”

Trucker Diablo have announced details of their second album, Songs of Iron which is due for release in May this year. The front, back covers and track listing have all been drip fed out over the past few weeks and it’s about time y’all geared up to see them in Dublin in two months. Songs of Iron follows on their successful debut, The Devil’s Rhythm and will contain 14 tracks in total (full list can be found below).

Irish fans can catch them live when they support Dublin rockers, Kopek @ The Workman’s Club on April 6^th. Tickets are on sale now priced €11.

Guns look set to announce a date in Beirut soon. This will potentially be their first ever show in Lebanon. official details are still to be announced. Killface, Exzeltic & Zombified Through to the Irish Wacken Metal Battle Final

Congrats to Killface, Exzeltic and Zombified who move into the Irish Wacken Metal Battle final after Sarurday night’s semi final. The three bands beat out competition from Atheos, Twisted Wrath and Xeoncide.

The next semi-final takes place in March 23rd and features Bakken, Beltbuckle Overdrive, Dead Aeon, Eazy Tyger, Overoth
and September Cross. Again, it’ll take place @ The Pint.

It’s back! The Irish leg of the Wacken metal battle returns to the capital next month with 12 bands all eyeing the chance to represent the Emerald Isle at Wacken 2013. Last year saw death metal juggernauts, WARPATH, go on to the world finals so who’s it going to be this time?

The 12 bands lined up for the semi-final rounds are Atheos, Bakken, Beltbuckle Overdrive, Dead Aeon, Eazy Tyger, Exzeltic, Killface, Overoth, September Cross, Twisted Wrath, Xenocide and Zombified .

The two semi-final stages and Irish final all take place at The Pint. Dates are below.

WARPATH & Shattered Skies Play Gypsy Rose Tonight

The gig is in conjunction with Sean Venter’s World Record Attempt for the Longest Tattoo Session (Zulu Tattoo) is gonna be €5 on the door, you’re welcome to add a donation also as it’s a very worthy cause.

The money made at this will be added to what Sean makes from his World Record Attempt. The Gypsy Rose and John Harbron have been awesome and are backing this gig so we can maximize funds for Myia. The legendary Whitesnake and ‘those who shall not be named’ have announced a co-headling UK tour with a stop off at Belfast’s Odyssey Arena on May 16th. Apparently those who shall not be named are closing the shows, which will give you loads of time to enjoy Whitesnake rocking the joint and then make it to the pubs long before closing. Unless… you like those who shall not be named and then Tickets There can only wish you luck. 9/Nov Update: THUNDER have been cofirmed as support in belfast as well as for the UK dates.

Irish rockers, The Stunning are coming to a theatre near…some of you this December! The band are set to finish of a very successful year celebrating the twenty-fifth anniversary of their classic album, Paradise In The Picture House. The band will play five dates in Kilkenny, Dublin, Cork, Castlebar and Galway. Black Sabbath Announce 2013 Australian Tour

Legendary heavy metal Godfathers Black Sabbath, have announced four Australian dates for 2013; sparking hopes the band intend to embark on a worldwide jaunt next year. The group performed three times in 2012 in the U.K. and US after a full scale reunion tour was cancelled due to guitarist Tony Iommi’s diagnosis (no C word here). On top of that the band ran into trouble with original drummer, Bill Ward over contractual issues. Bill still remains absent from the line-up but Ozzy, Geezer Butler and Tony will all be present and correct.

The band are currently working with Rick Rubin to complete their first original album in almost twenty years and their first with Ozzy Osbourne in 34 years. Guitars and drums have been completed with Ozzy and Geezer currently hauled up in Shangri La Studios in Malibu, California to complete vocal parts.

The Australian dates are on sale from Nov. 8th. Live Nation members can avail of a pre-sale that starts 09:00am Saturday.

We were slow for this news, but it must be said. The current line-up of Thin Lizzy have announced they will cease touring under the Lizzy name at the end of this year. Once the band complete their European tour in December, they will officially drop the Thin Lizzy name and announce a new one next year. The band have recently been discussing a new Lizzy album but have now decided to release it with a fresh start.

Despite the name drop, frontman Ricky Warwick did state that this does not necessarily mean the end of Thin Lizzy outright and the line-up may tour as Lizzy again in the future. For now the band want to focus on their new record that they feel is strong enough to win over Lizzy fans and make former singer and all round Irish legend – Phil Lynott, proud.
