NEW DEF LEPPARD ALBUM OUT NOW

Posted in Music, New Music, News with tags , , , on October 30, 2015 by Tickets There

defleppardselftitledcdvoverIt’s finally here, Def Leppard’s 11th studio album is available world wide from today! The self titled record has been highly anticipated by fans and is the groups first studio release since 2008’s Songs From The Sparkle Lounge (Allowing them to officially beat Metallica and Guns N’ Roses in the fastest draw competition….).

Expect a full review soon on Tickets There (don’t laugh) but on first listen it’s sounding pretty decent. Not the exact return to their 80’s style we’d been expecting and a lot more US focused than normal – but some absolute belters. May just be the best record in two decades.

Go now, buy the thing, support the Lepp and come back soon.

‘Super Duper Alice Cooper’ Coming to Dublin

Posted in Music, News with tags , , , , , , on April 15, 2014 by Tickets There

ACSD

Holy smokes, look what was just announced for next week – Alice ‘The Coop’ COOPER will be (technically, make sure you read the fine print and understand that statement is not factual) in cinema’s across Ireland!

PR Blurb…..now: The story of the rock legend that is Alice Cooper is told in a new documentary called “Super Duper Alice Cooper” and is set for a special one off screening at Omniplex cinemas on Thursday 24th April at 8pm..

Super Duper Alice Cooper is the story of Vincent Furnier, a preacher’s son who struck fear into the hearts of parents everywhere as Alice Cooper, the ultimate rock star of the bizarre. From the advent of Alice as frontman for a group of Phoenix freaks in the sixties to the hazy decadence of celebrity in the seventies to the winking comeback as glam metal godfather in the eighties, the movie pitches Alice against Vincent in a battle for each other’s souls.

Told in the form of a “doc opera,” Super Duper Alice Cooper is a dizzying blend of documentary and rock opera that combines audio interviews with a bounty of Alice Cooper archive footage; concerts, TV appearances, movie cameos, newspaper headlines, magazine spreads and many other visual elements have been cut out, layered and collaged like a cinematic View-Master. Alongside the hits that defined an era, overlooked gems of Alice Cooper’s body of work have been dug up and melded into montages that soundtrack his life.

Motörhead Announce new album details

Posted in Music, News with tags , , , , , , , on September 4, 2013 by Tickets There

1150872_672860136079631_1477616986_nThe true lords of rock ‘n’ roll are coming back! It’s been almost three years since The Wörld Is Yours hit the shelves and it’s been a long wait for something new from the mighty Motörhead; especially considering the horrible reports that came from Europe over the summer regarding Lemmy’s health. Well never fear, Lemmy is here and he has new tunes for you. There’s a great press release which I’m including below but..

Aftershock will see the light of day on October 18th – 21st. Also Classic rock will be doing a CD/Mag dealie. NO IRISH SHOWS in the tour so you won’t find a listing of the other dates here. Yeah – that’s how it works, Motörhead or no Motörhead.

Silence, silence

Silence when you speak to me!

 -Lemmy Kilmister

Like the juggernaut you prayed would keep on crushing you, like the friend that still royally pisses off your parents and like a loyal standard of crunchy, greasy, punky, bluesy, gutsy screw-you rock’n’roll, Motörhead stride out through their 38th year brandishing more swagger and attitude then your ears could begin to comprehend.

On Oct 21st, 2013 Motörhead will deliver their 21st studio album, an enormous and prophetic Aftershock. Recorded at NRG Studios in North Hollywood,it is a true leveller, a crushing confirmation of everything Motörhead stands for, marching from the dust storm to deliver 14 belting statements which see Motörhead in perhaps their best writing form for years. There’s swagger, there’s punch, there’s speed and there’s dirty filthy grooves, Lemmy Kilmister, Phil Campbell and Mikkey Dee showing clearly that Motörhead is not simply a band, it’s a genre!

That genre, more than ever, resonates with hearty independence and swashbuckle. Whether it’s “Heartbreaker” throwing hooks and riffs into your head, the double-kick concussiveness of “Paralyzed” with Campbell’s fuelled attack, or the thunderous ride-off-the-Rickenbacker Motörcharge of “Going To Mexico”, Aftershock takes gleeful twists and turns which re-announce the Motörlegend. There’s the smokey biker bar blues in the shape of “Dust And Glass”, Lemmy’s late-night vocals evoking last-call and melancholy, the pogo-powered punk-spiked stab of “Queen Of The Damned” and the deliciously steamy, humid mournful “Lost Woman Blues” which midway through decides to kick over the stool and stomp out the saloon door.

“Steal it if you must, buy it if you can!” says Lemmy, who’s pride in the album is so immense that guests to his home and dressing room in the last couple of months have been treated to extremely loud airings of the rough mixes, while Phil Campbell adds, “I really think the variation on the album shows that we’ve dug deep and produced some of our best work for a long time.”

“It is,” says Mikkey Dee, “a really, really strong Motörhead album, one that really does define everything this band stands for.”

He’s not wrong. Because Motörhead are Motörhead are Motörhead…and their Aftershock will be felt worldwide…

Aftershock: Track Listing:

Heartbreaker
Coup de Grace
Lost Woman Blues
End Of Time
Do You Believe
Death Machine
Dust And Glass
Going To Mexico
Silence When You Speak To Me
Crying Shame
Queen Of The Damned
Knife
Keep Your Powder Dry
Paralyzed

First Image of Metallica’s ‘Through The Never’ 3D Movie

Posted in Music, News with tags , , , , , , on May 10, 2013 by Tickets There

Through The Never (2013) Dane DeHaanMetallica never do things by half in fairness. Instead of going down the old route of releasing a basic live DVD, they’re going full on 3D IMAX for their new movie/concert file, ‘Metallica Through The Never’. Details are sketchy but it’s going to be based on a Metallica concert happening in a city filled with chaos where one of their road crew gets sent on a mission and so on.

The first image was released this week (can be viewed there at the side) and the film has officially IMAX release date of September 27th. Filming of the Metallica scenes took place last year in Canada on a stage custom built for the movie. Dane DeHaan stars as the main character…well, aside from Lars, James, Robert and Kirk of course.

It’s been a while since Metallica made a move that excited me (three years and counting lads – get back to Dublin!) but this project sounds like it’ll be well worth watching. The movie will be generally released in October.

KISS ‘MONSTER’ Released Today!

Posted in INTO-NOISE!, Music, New Music with tags , , , , , on October 5, 2012 by Tickets There

The wait is over people! Today, KISS release their twentieth studio album ‘MONSTER’. It’s their first since 2009’s ‘Sonic Boom’ which saw them achieve their highest ever chart position in the US….just writing this, I believe Tickets There may have indicated in another article that Monster is the first album by the current line-up, of course it’s not – Sonic Boom was. Not like Tickets There wasn’t plastering Sonic Boom everywhere when it came out. Chalk that one up to Jack Daniels head.

Anyways, the album is out today – it’s going to be awesome and you may as well check out the cool trailer than band have released for it. Now, let’s wait for the 2013 European tour announcement! (will they bring Mötley Crüe over? Dare we dream??)

One of Tickets There’s favourite Irish bands, The Riptide Movement have confirmed their second album, ‘Keep on keppin’ on’ is finally finished and will be released …(drum roll please) – April 20th 2012!! A post from the band confirmed every thing’s ready to go, but it wasn’t easy or fast to get them to this stage.

“They say good things come to those who wait…. its only taken us 2 years, €40,000, 1 Orchestra, 4 studios, a clatter of musicians and a crazy dude on a didgeridoo..but like a fine pint of Guinness this beast is ready to be enjoyed. Our 2nd album Keep on, Keepin on’ is due for release Fri April 20th. Are you ready? Thank you all for your support, big, big love. T.R.M”

The bands début, ‘What About the Tip Jars?‘ was released in 2009 and this follow up has been highly anticipated, a lot of that thanks to their tireless touring, hit single – ‘Hot Tramp an of course that good ol Cajun sound. Bring on 2012!
