Enniskillen Celtic metal five piece …three of which have dark hair, one blonde and another two seemingly between brown and reddish, DARKEST ERA have announced plans to release their second studio album. Sorry, sick of typing out the usual where they’re from and a quick genre label.
Severance is the follow up to 2011’s The Last Caress of Lightand will hit shelves on June 13th in Europe and July 3rd in the US. Darkest Era have teamed up with Cruz Del Sur Music for the release and the album will come in CD, Online and Vinyl formats. Let the mouths start to water…..
Fermanagh (Enniskillen – booyeah!) locals Darkest Era have just released an official video for ‘An Ancient Fire Burns’ from their 2011 debut album, The Last Caress of Light. The video was produced and directed by am up and coming Belfast based production called Fastville and directed by Kieran Majury. The semi-Celtic metal lads put a nice piling of heavy riffs, pelting drums and harmonies together for a tight, well produced sound. Good news is, if you like it, you’ll be able to catch them in the Pint (Dublin) and The Limelight (Belfast) this April…read on.

To celebrate the release of the video (and presumably just to tour .….we made up the celebrate thing) the band have announced a Dublin and Belfast dates in April. They’ll be kicking off a full UK tour on Saturday in Plymouth which carries on till the 19th before returning back to Ireland for a couple of home grown shows. Full list can be found below,
