Def Leppard – New Album / Tour in 2011
According to Vivian Campbell and Phil Collen (Viv, when he was discussing future plans with Thin Lizzy and Phil in a recent interview with Music Radar), Def Leppard are planning to release a new ‘raw’ studio album in 2011 in time for a large tour the band is undertaking in the summer.
Vivian mentioned his foray into the Thin Lizzy world will have to take a rest when the Leppard return to the road for a massive tour next summer while Phil confirmed they’re hoping to have the record ready in time for the tour.
“We’re getting some new songs together because we want to release something next year. The plan is to be on the road in 2011, so it’d be nice to get some fresh material out there.”

Leppard’s last album, Songs From The Sparkle Lounge was released to rave reviews in 2008, selling over 50,000 copies in the Unites States in it’s first week. Leppard have always been known for leaving long gaps between albums but it seems the boys are determined to catch the raw, rough n ready sound that made them the megastars that they are. A new “raw” album would be awesome… just dont get caught up in the loudness war war that made SFTSL so fatiguing to listen to. Go, Come Undone, and Cruise Control were some of the best material written by the band since Slang. definately a step in the right direction.

I believe that DEF LEPPARD is the greatest rock band of all time. I [pray that this new album will finally get some promotion. I do not not like seeing all these bands get more promotion than DEF LEPPARD when they are no where near as good.

Hello, it’s my husbands 40th birthday in a few months and his favorite band is Def Leopard. he has NEVER seen then in concert….what a great present for me to give him……I REALLY hope they will tour in Florida! We will drive anywhere…..
