Thin Lizzy Line-up Announce Hiatus and Name Change for New Album

Posted in Gig Listing, Music, News with tags , , , , , , , , , , on October 31, 2012 by Tickets There

We were slow for this news, but it must be said. The current line-up of Thin Lizzy have announced they will cease touring under the Lizzy name at the end of this year. Once the band complete their European tour in December, they will officially drop the Thin Lizzy name and announce a new one next year. The band have recently been discussing a new Lizzy album but have now decided to release it with a fresh start.

Despite the name drop, frontman Ricky Warwick did state that this does not necessarily mean the end of Thin Lizzy outright and the line-up may tour as Lizzy again in the future. For now the band want to focus on their new record that they feel is strong enough to win over Lizzy fans and make former singer and all round Irish legend – Phil Lynott, proud.

Details will follow on Tickets There when the band announce further plans. In the meantime, catch Thin Lizzy when they play the last two Irish dates for a while,

Wed/Dec-12 Belfast, N.I. The Limelight (with Trucker Diablo supporting in Belfast)

Thu/Dec-13 Dublin, Ireland Olympia Theatre

The Walls Announce :fund:it Campaign

Posted in IRISH NOISE!, Music, News with tags , , , , , , on January 30, 2012 by Tickets There

Perhaps a slight touch of Déjà vu  this morning for our readers, but The Walls have announced details of their Stop The Lights album :fund:it campaign. Steve and Joe have set themselves 27 days to raise €10,000 to help complete the mastering, artwork and manufacturing of the record which they hope to release in early March this year. There’s a fair whack of rewards available to fans depending on the size of their contribution including signed copies of the album, t-shirts, downloads, bonus releases, the chance to attend a song writing workshop with Joe and Steve Wall and even a once in a life time opportunity to have The Walls perform a show in your house. Please find the details below,

Our new album “Stop the lights” is almost finished and due to be released in early March 2012. It includes last summers radio hit Bird in a Cage and the just-released single Stop the Lights. This will be our third album (not including the Stunning albums). We’re really excited about it and feel the songs are as strong as anything we’ve released in the past.

Fund it is an ideal way for our fans to be part of the process and contribute whatever they feel is appropriate in a secure way…and you get handsomely rewarded for doing so . You can donate using a debit or credit card and its only debited if we reach the target.

We’ve worked with some great people in the making of this album, including Rob Kirwan who’s worked with U2 and recorded PJ Harvey’s recent Mercury Award winning album. Stop the Lights is being mastered by Geoff Pesche in Abbey Road, London. The artwork looks amazing and is being done by Conor & David, one of Ireland’s best graphic design team.

To pay for the mastering, artwork, manufacturing etc. we’d like to raise some money so we’re starting a Fund it campaign. We’ve set the target at €10,000 but we really hope to raise more as the overall costs far exceed that amount. We really appreciate you coming on board! Joe & Steve

KISS Confirm New 2011 Album

Posted in Music, News with tags , , , , , , on January 28, 2011 by Tickets There

The doom and gloom of our rancid recession ridden lives aside, the mighty KISS have cheered up the millennium with the confirmed announcement that they’ll be hitting the studio in March to record a brand spanking new record for release later this year. Mr. Paul ‘Starchild’ Stanley, the nicest man in rock music and the filthiest legend going with the ladies is once again set to spear head production duties for the record after the massive success from his last baby, Sonic Boom.

KISS + New Album = New Tour!!! Fortunately, the tour isn’t all these is these days as Sonic Boom proved The lads can whip out classic rock giants like ever before and a new album means at least 10 new songs to add to your favourite KISS tracks of all time. Tickets There’s list currently includes around 18,000 songs. Not all were written or recorded by KISS but deep down we know and you know that it was KISS in another form.

Anyways, the news was confirmed by Tommy ‘the main man’ (not his actual nickname folks, just the lads being unoriginal as always – Ed) Thayer when he gave an interview to BackstageAxxess recently. Read his bible like comments below!

“The great news is that we are going in the studio again in the next month or two. We are starting to work on writing some songs, approach it just like we did with Sonic Boom and keep it all in the band in terms of the writing, with no agenda besides writing great rock n’ roll songs that we love, then rehearsing them before then recording them. It really felt good to us so we’ll go the same way this time.”

“Paul knows more what a KISS record should sound like than anybody, to be honest with you, so he is going to lead the charge and produce it again and we are all really excited about it.

“I know we are going to start working on it really soon in terms of the writing and rehearsing and we’ll probably be in the studio by March, so sometime this year I’m sure you’ll see a spanking new KISS album that’s gonna kick some butt!”
