Hellfire()Sounds Review: Summoner (‘Infernal Incantations’ Demo)

Posted in EP Review, Hellfire()Sounds : REVIEWS, Music, New Music with tags , , , , on March 6, 2012 by Tickets There

Looking for a little Black metal meets thrash? Well no need to go scraping the bay of California or digging through the abandoned grave years on Norway – Ireland’s got you sorted. Summoner  are an Irish band (possibly from the late 200 BC) who dress like demonic druids and play extremely heavy, yet surprisingly accessible tunes. While some find the likes of Mayhem, Emperor and Venom hard to listen to, Summoner have added in a little bit of raunchiness into the typical bleak black metal soundscape which ends up as a thrashy, death metal fusing of the sounds.  They released their ‘Infernal Incantations’ demo in October 2011 so time to give it a spin.

Well it’s short. In total the demo comes in at 1.18 seconds with two tunes. ‘Into Mine Unseen Barrier Shall Thy Flesh Be Wrought’ kicks things off and acts as the demo’s opus clocking up an impressive 00:51 seconds on the clock. It still managed a fairly awesome intro, nice bit of riffage and lead and fairly full on, bleaker than black vocals. Don’t judge a man by his height, book by it’s cover or song by it’s length!. Final song, ‘Premature Incineration’ has all the hallmarks of a AAA VIP pass into hell. Short, bitter and brutal. While it may not be the most radio friendly genre out there, Summoner do it well but know this – we are keeping a closer eye on church fires from now on!

Hellfire()Sounds Review: Psykosis (‘Toxic Terror Storm’ Demo)

Posted in EP Review, Hellfire()Sounds : REVIEWS, IRISH NOISE!, Music, New Music with tags , , , , , , on March 5, 2012 by Tickets There

It’s Monday, it’s sunny and that means thrash metal is needed! Rather that rooting through the American bands for some tunage, why not try some local home-grown boys who are just as good. Psykosis are a Dublin born ‘n’ bred, God honest thrash band with killer riffs, no quarter lyrics and blistering solos. Oh yes, welcome home!

The band has one demo to their name and are looking to get their debut album out and onto your stereos as soon as possible. In the meantime the demo, ‘Toxic Terror Storm’ will be enough to keep your going. Opening with the rampaging ‘Toxic Fugitive’, the tune immediately blasts you into a no-holes barred, thrash world of carnage. Sneering lyrics overlapped with shredding guitar leads and riffs so forceful you’ll think you’re having a seizure.  ‘Terror At 3 A.M.’ turns things up a few notches with thundering drums/riffs creating a wall of power behind Grant Walsh’s vocals and guitars. Powerful chorus, savage solos – everything a good healthy dose of metal can deliver really.

The Demo closes with the fearsome ‘Bonestorm’ which starts off with one solid riff that pounds its way through the track. If you’re into mind-numbing riff ‘n’ solo style metal, then this is your baby. Dense, hard and heavy and a crackin’ tune to finish the demo of with. In short, Psykosis are a formidable force on the Irish metal scene. Well worth checking out and another band you’ll be hearing more about on Tickets There in the future.

All tracks on the demo are available on their MySpace Page (Click Here) and they play the Wacken Metal Battle Semi-Final II on March 24th @ The Pint, Dublin.

Posted in Music, Music Video, New Music, News with tags , , , , , on January 26, 2012 by Tickets There

It’s all go at the Wall household this year. First of all 2012 seems to be the year The Walls will finally release their third album, Stop The Lighst. This one’s been a long time coming but anyone’s that’s heard previous releases like Bird In A Cage, Phantom Power and Carrying The Fire will agree it’ll be worth it. To kick things off the band have released another single titled ‘Stop The Lights’ and it’s available from all good radio stations who will even take the time and effort to play it for you on the air if you’d be so good as to give them a call. More info on the album as and when we have it…or by TT traditions, 6 months after Goldenplec tell you. For now, have a listen to a live recording of Stop The Lighst below.

Also, it’s The Stunning’s 25th anniversary this year so expect news galore on the coming months. Rumour is there’s a tour in the works and even a new release but details remain to be seen. The official update from the band can be found below (there goes my ‘rumour story)

2012 is The Stunning’s 25th anniversary!

It’s hard to believe as we’ve hardly changed over the years and we play even better! But it is indeed 25 years since the band formed. Watch this space for some activity later this year. There’s talk of a new release (including a couple of new songs) and a tour. Stay in touch…..

Trucker Diablo’s Debut Album Gets US Release

Posted in Music, New Music, News with tags , , , , on January 26, 2012 by Tickets There

Excuse certain bloggers tardiness on this one, but we couldn’t not mention the fact that Trucker Diablo, one of the most exciting things happening in hard rock have re-released their debut album ‘The Devil Rhythm’ through Ripple; a California based record label. They’ve also got the official video for ‘Drink Beer, Destroy’ out there and it’s kicking ass all over YouTube and on Kerrang Radio. The re-rellease features 3 additional bonus tracks including one new recording and two live recordings from last years Download Festival in the U.K.

If you haven’t heard this record then you need to pick it up. For fans of AC/DC, Guns, Metallica… it’ll be right up your ally. More fury than a dragon and more power than Tyson. Tickets There sold out and put our review elsewhere but mark my words, you’ll be seeing a lot more about these guys in 2012.

Just came across this fantastic track while trawling through some hard rock bands. They’re from Antrim, they’re called Sweet Taste and they’ve got a pretty bang on sound. If you’re a fan of Jaded Sun or The Answer, check these guys out. The tune is called ‘Otherside‘ and it seems to have come out back in january, but rock music doesn’t age so it’s all good.

Alice Cooper: New Song Played Live

Posted in Music, New Music on May 25, 2011 by Tickets There

If you’re anything like Tickets There, you’re sitting in front of your computer watching the minutes tick away until June 8th when hard rock legends Def Leppard, Alice Cooper and Thin Lizzy will take the stage of Dublin’s O2 Arena for a night of iconic rock n roll classics.

In that spirit (and to help the time pass a little easier), we thought you might like this little nugget, a brand new Alice Cooper track titled ‘I’ll Eat Your Face’, which comes from Alice’s forthcoming album, Welcome 2 My Nightmare, a follow up to his 1975 début solo album. If we’re lucky, it may make an appearance next month when the grand master arrives in Eire.

Alice, we’ll never be worthy! Enjoy folks!

ADMIRAL BLACK – SHOCK CORRIDORS (New Music)

Admiral Black has uploaded a new song entitled Shock Corridors to Souncloud. Well worth a go for any of you looking for some classic rock grounded, psychedelic fun. The band is currently based in Berlin working on material for their début album. For those of you who’ve heard of Humanzi, you may be interested to know that the Admiral himself is ‘former’ (considering they’re as close to broken up as you can get without screaming it out loud) Manzi singer Shaun Mulrooney. Anyone looking for a little quirky dance floor number to warm up this exceptionally cold winters day? we’ll check out HeimlicK My Heart by The Indecent Cigar Emporium (these names just keep getting better don’t they :) ).

We gave this a few spins yesterday and have to say it’s not a bad wee tune at all from the new group. More to come in 2011 so consider this a Christmas taster.
